The Kansas City Chiefs beat the New York Football Giants 27-0 despite only throwing the ball 6 times largely because of the legs of Terrence Rodgers and Justin Buchanan.

    [2017] Week #12 POTW

Week #12 OPOTW QB Bobby Kolodziej, CAL, 35 of 50 for 411 yards, 5 TD, 0 INT vs #22 Oregon For the second straight week, the National Offensive Player of the Week was a quarterback facing off against the Oregon Ducks. Bobby Kolodziej earned his spot here, and a reporter went out to the West Coast to grab an interview. "SageBow for SageBow Inc. here with California Quarterback Bobby Kolodziej. First off Bobby, you torched a ranked Oregon Ducks team, ending the day with 5 touchdowns and over 400 yards. How did it feel out there on the field?" "You know, I felt very nervous at the beginning, even though we knew Oregon had been going downhill a bit they had still beaten Washington which is a great team. To get into our rhythm there was great, it started to feel like one of our other really high scoring games but we made sure to stay disciplined and keep our heads in the game. I will say that those stats at the end of the game felt great, and Kristian and Nick were very happy as well." "You are part of a fantastic California senior class. The expectations for you guys are very high. Did that ever put any pressure on you?" "Not at all. Last year we had some expectations as well, and that led to a 4-8 season. We're always trying to stay realistic here, never trying to get ahead of ourselves. We have a system, we play to it, we grind out the wins, and we get as many as we can. Even still, there's been some pressure due to our success at a school where we've never had a winning season." "Currently Cal is being considered as a potential playoff team. How will it feel to represent California as their starting QB on the national stage should you be selected?" "Absolutely amazing. Considering we were just hoping to get to a bowl game, getting to the playoffs would feel great, and I'd love to be a part of that. Some people don't have me ranked as high as other QBs and I can understand that, but we have a good system going here and I'd love to be the QB for a possible playoff appearance." "As a quarterback, do you ever get the feel that you're the big man on campus? Do you like all the attention?" "I love it. It's great seeing the tons of people at games and everyone in the Bay Area getting excited. People give me high-fives all the time and everyone knows me, I feel like a celebrity and my face is in the paper all the time, it's so fun." "Thanks for sitting down with me today. Before I go, want to make any shout outs?" "I'd like to give a shoutout to Coach Quasar, my receivers, my RB Marvin Washington, and Onome Smith and Jeff Cox on this amazing defense. Thank you!" Week #12 DPOTW DE Richard Gonzalez, COL, 3 Sacks, 3 Tackles vs Oregon State The national awards stayed with the PAC-12 as Richard Gonzalez had a massive multisack game against the Oregon State Beavers. SageBow stopped by Colorado on the return flight from California to meet up with the Buffalo star. "SageBow here with my guest, Richard Gonzalez. Richard, you picked up 3 sacks in an incredible defensive effort against Oregon State. How did this defensive line bring so much pressure to the Beaver's quarterback?" "Well I mean we got a great defensive line you know. David took out 2 of their guys just about every play and that opened up lanes for me, especially when we were blitzing. And uh, nothing against Jack Hudson but he didn't have a very good game. I was beating him straight up a lot of the time. And then our secondary was doing a good job of holding their Wideouts long enough for us to get to Paul Roberts, so yeah, just a good defensive game for us in general." "There's a lot of hype around the nation for next year's fearsome "Colorado Rocky Mountains" which will give the Buffalos quite a dangerous defensive line. With the play you guys have shown this year, and the addition of a few new faces, how do you think the Buffalo's 2018 defensive line will go down in the history books?" "It's gonna be crazy man. Marcus and Nemeniah are gonna be great to work with, and everyone knows what David's all about. We gonna go down as one of the best D lines in football history, mark my word man, we got some NFL talent on that roster man. People are gonna have to fear us. We gonna be in the head of every QB in the pac-12. It's gonna be exciting man." "Colorado's had a shaky start under coach Dacder, but you guys have really turned it around as of late. What do you think the fanbase is expecting heading into the rest of this season and next season?" "I don't know what the fan base is expecting, but I'm expected for us to finish strong with an upset over Nebraska and killin' Utah, then next season I think we're gonna be major contenders for the PAC-12. We're returning a ton of players and adding some new ones too so I definitely look forward to what we can do next season." "Offensively though, Colorado seems very lacking. You face off the most against your offense. What steps do you think need to be taken before they become a threatening force?" "I just think some of the key players on our offense are having a down year. They'll bounce back and develop and do better next season. Maybe there needs to be a change scheme wise too, otherwise though I'm confident it'll all get fixed." "Now back to you. How have classes been this week? You getting a lot of love from your peers?" "Yeah man, everyone here treats us players good, all of us. Maybe I've been getting a little extra love from the students but it's always great week in and week out, everyone here loves our football team even when we're struggling." "Thank you very much for sitting down with me today Richard. Before I leave, do you have any shoutouts?" "Uh, yeah, shoutout to my momma, my dad, and uh...Jesus. And uh, thanks for having me." Many thanks to Quasar and Dacder for their interviews. Best of luck to all our POTWs for Week #13! List of Past National Players of the Week

After a slow week in the Pac-12 last Saturday, the action picks up with eight games for the conference's teams in Week 13 including seven on Saturday. Two division contenders in Oregon and Utah saw their title hopes get a little farther away last week. Expect more tight action as teams jockey to solidify or rise in division standings. Lots of games to get to, so these will be short and sweet. Utah (5-5, 4-2) @ Tulane (6-4, 4-3) The Utes floundered a bit last week against the Sun Devils. The offense played decently well, but the defense gave up 147 yards on 27 carries. While Utah is most likely reeling after losing a chance in playing the Pac-12 title game, they need to be prepared to play today as they are still fighting for bowl eligibility. They have two very winnable games against Tulane and Colorado, although both are on the road. Tulane has claimed bowl eligibility, but two tough games to close the season could have them finishing at a .500 record. An interesting matchup that could set future trajectories. Colorado (3-7, 2-4) @ #16 Nebraska (8-2, 4-2) Another Pac-12 South team takes a non conference road trip to the central time zone. The Buffs won last week over a bad Oregon State team, hopefully giving them some confidence going forward. Now they face one of the better teams in the country in their own stadium. A big upset would continue that momentum into the final game and also next year. Nebraska is right in the thick of the Big Ten race, so I expect them to be focused, although facing a non conference opponent might be lower on the radar than conference opponents in terms of getting prepared. Oregon (7-3, 2-3) @ Stanford (2-7, 0-4) Oregon faces their third loss in conference and is now on the outside looking in for the North race after losing to California in Week 12. They didn't just lose, they were embarrassed to the tune of 42-14. They don't face a high profile offense this week, but their secondary needs work. The Ducks have two games remaining against the bottom teams in the North, so a nine win season should be expected. Winning these two games would hopefully lend them confidence heading into the bowl season. Stanford on the other hand, is still Stanford. Winless in conference play with three tough games remaining to close out 2017. I don't expect them to put up much of a fight this afternoon. #5 Arizona (8-1, 5-0) @ USC (3-6, 2-2) With a win today against Southern Cal, Arizona can be that much closer to winning the South division and being the representative in the Pac-12 Championship Game. They dispatched a Washington State team that played them close well into the 4th quarter in Pullman where Taylor Rodriquez had an efficient game, completing 72% of his passes for 277 yards and two touchdowns. Their opponents today, USC, still have the talent to pull any upsets despite their record. A big win today, along with their remaining schedule, could push them to bowl eligibility. I don't expect Arizona to let up any though with the title game and a playoff berth in their sights. #18 Arizona State (8-2, 4-1) @ UCLA (2-7, 1-3) Arizona State finds them in an unprecedented positions - in the race for a division title. Because of this, they could be looking ahead toward the territorial cup in Week 15 vs. Arizona, especially with a 2-7 team on their schedule this week. The Sun Devils eliminated a team from the competition last week in Salt Lake City, giving them momentum heading into the final two games. Although UCLA has taken a downturn this year, they shouldn't be counted out. The Bruins have had a relatively strong schedule, resulting in the abysmal record for the 2017 campaign. UCLA is due for a good showing, hopefully the Sun Devils are prepared adequately. GAME OF THE WEEK #12 Washington (7-2, 3-2) @ #7 California (8-1, 3-1) Defenses beware, this one could be a prolific shootout between two passing attacks with First Team Pac-12 caliber. Unless other chaos ensues in the final weeks of the season, this game will likely determine the eventual North division champion. Washington ends a tough five game slate with renewed hope of a title game appearance after Oregon suffered their losses. The Huskies come off a bye and head out on the road where they are undefeated this season. California is in the same position as Arizona State, chasing their first division title. A win today WILL clinch the division for the Golden Bears. I can't imagine the stakes being any higher for Coach Quasar and company. Could a playoff spot be in their future?

ACC RESULTS 5 teams have now become bowl eligible as Clemson was able to beat NC State by a score of 38-14. Friday Night Wake Forest vs Louisville Prediction: Wake Forest- Louisville 31-28 Result: Wake Forest- Louisville 30-28 With this win Wake forest improves to (5-5, 4-1) in the conference and have a great shot of earning their first ever bowl game appearance. They were able to take jump all over Louisville in the first half behind the legs of Troy McCray who finished with another outstanding game going 25 for 120 and 2 TDS, giving him his 10th 100 yard game of the season. Louisville falls to (5-5, 2-4) in a game they needed to win to become bowl eligible they came out flat in the first half only scoring 7 points and trailing by 20, they made some great halftime adjustments but were unable to make up for the huge deficit in the end. Saturday Morning Clemson vs NC State Prediction: Clemson - NC State 45-21 Result Clemson - NC State 38-14 Clinching a win and a bowl game is a sweet sweet feeling and the Tigers will enjoy this one tonight as they have improved to (6-5, 4-3). They will look to win one more game and get a decent bowl game to finish off the season. Clemson’s Steve Reed was able to have his way in this game as he threw for 330 yards and 4 tds. NC State struggled to get anything going once again and will look to win in the final game of the season. After the game NC State announced the hiring of deandean1998 which could be the best thing in team history. Duke vs Virginia Prediction: Virginia - Duke 28-13 Result Virginia - Duke 24-7 Virginia did what they needed to do this week and that was win, they were able to throw for a solid 292 yards and have 3 passing tds to no int. With the win Virginia was able to improve to (5-6, 2-4) overall. However to make a bowl game they’re going to put together the best game of the season vs Virginia Tech in a huge rivalry game. Duke once again proved that they’re bad and I don’t see it getting any better anytime soon. They’re now a horrendous (1-9, 0-5) overall and with 2 games left just want this season to be over with so they can stop the bleeding. Pittsburgh vs Notre Dame Prediction: Pittsburgh – Notre Dame 21-17 Result Pittsburgh – Notre Dame 14-24 Pittsburg became victim to Notre Dame like the rest of their opponents have been this year, a very slow paced offense that lulls you to sleep. Pitt was able to throw the ball a little which kept them in the game but wasn’t good enough to win them the game. Pitt falls to (5-5, 4-2) overall and will need to win one of their final 2 games to become bowl eligible. Miami vs Georgia Tech Prediction: Miami – Georgia Tech 24-21 Result Miami – Georgia Tech 33-21 Miami came into this game with high hopes of pulling a minor upset and keeping their bowl hope alive, the came in with a game plan to throw all over the Georgia Tech Defense and they were able to do just that. Preseason all-acc favorite Paul Davenport threw for an outstanding 404 yards on 34 attempts while also throwing 4 tds to his 1 int. With this win they have improved (5-5, 3-3) overall. Georgia Tech was sitting in great shape to potentially make the ACC championship game however with this loss have almost certainly eliminated themselves from any chance of doing just that, the defense was awful this week and Jamie Avery and the offense just couldn’t put enough together to counter the poor defensive effort. Rumors have it that the defense was running after the game. Georgia Tech is now (6-4, 4-2) with a chance to finish with 2 solid wins in the final weeks. #1 Boston College vs #19 Virginia Tech Prediction: Boston College – Virginia Tech 31-35 Result Boston College – Virginia Tech 35-42 First of all let’s say what an amazing game this was back and forth a battle to the very end. Boston College had the chance to really seal up a birth to the ACC title game but was unable to overcome the last minute touchdown from the combo of Dobbs to Dodd. Boston College was able to rush the ball fairly well, they also a great performance from Alex Leshoure who threw for 294 yards and had 3 tds and 1 int. Boston College is now (9-1,4-1) overall. Virginia Tech was able to run the ball as well as attack the secondary of Boston College very well, the tandem of Matthew Dobbs and Jarius Shaw-Dodd were almost unstoppable tonight as they really controlled the game. Virginia Tech is now a stunning (10-1, 5-1) overall and has an outside shot at the playoffs! Overall Prediction Results : (5-1)

St. Louis Rams Hire New Head Scout

I feel as if the Rams can be described in two words. "Cooperative Risk-taking". As a front office, we have had significant gambles to put us to where we are today. From gaining two first round picks in 2014, selling the team to a then unproven SageBow, picking up an undersized Gray Corbin early in the 2016 draft, to taking a chance on Leigh Davey and watching him blossom. This philosophy is what has brought the Rams to where we are today, one of the few organizations that has made it to a Super Bowl. It would be a travesty to give up on our way of thought. I have full belief that Ethan can come in to gain some experience, and end up being a very coveted person for front offices all around the nation.

St. Louis Rams Hire New Head Scout

I would firstly like to put the rumors to rest that our talent flee from our organization. As one of the founding teams of the league, we pride ourselves on tradition. Sure we may have had the most staff turnover of any team in history, but in the past few seasons, our front office trio has stayed very stable. In your question, I believe you are referring to current GM of the New England Patriots Dacder leaving St. Louis's defensive coordinator post. Realize that he is a mercenary with no sense of team loyalty, leaving destruction in his wake. Before we hired Dacder, we had made the playoffs every year. He killed Grey Corbin, ditched to Houston, broke Buzz and tanked yet another playoff caliber team, and fled to the raging dumpster fire that in New England. #FireDacder Just kidding Dacder, I love you. (My opinions are mine and mine alone do not directly reflect the opinions of the Rams Organization)
