Bowling Green, Ohio, 3:36am
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, the Bowling Green higher ups and first year coach, Ecnirp, agreed upon a contract extension. The contract has the coach staying with the team through 2025. The Falcons, ever searching for longevity at head coach, may have found it's answer. We managed to reach the school committee for response. They cited the coach's promising start to the recruiting cycle, recruiting promises made, as well as an out-of-conference victory over Marshall as the primary reasons for putting faith into the relatively inexperienced coach.
With 6 different coaches over the past 8 seasons, continuity is something that has been lacking in Bowling Green. The hope is that Coach Ecnirp will stay out his 4 season term, and bring some much needed longevity to the head coaching position. Many in the college football universe say this is one of the key reasons for the current issues plaguing the team. Even though he is extremely fresh, a fully executed vision may be more important than a prestigious coach for Bowling Green as it stands.

Opening Statement: "Hello members of the press, we're here to discuss the contract that was just agreed upon. I'll also be taking any questions on the state of the team, if that's what you'd wish to ask. Not much to say about the contract, I expected we'd get something done and I expect to be here for a while. When me and the school board first had discussions, we had a plan and a vision drawn out. I want to complete that, I'm a guy who follows things through. So that's what we're here to do. Any questions you have, fire away."
"Yeah, it's definitely a little different. But you know, as a school we're kind of in a transitional phase so sometimes some different decisions need to be made. The reason for the timing really came down to trust building. The committee wanted to see that I could implement the vision we had discussed, and according to them, so far so good. You know, looking at our out-of-conference schedule, we were going to be happy stealing a win from any of those teams so that one win did manage to build a little faith. Whether I think it warrants it or not, you know, it's not on me to make that offer. Obviously I'd rather be up here 3-0 right now but that's not where we are as a school yet. It's going to be a process and we all know that. We just wanted to make sure that we're all in for the long haul."
