  1. Massachussets Minutemen 2024 Season Preview 2023 Season: 1-11 (0-0) Record No Bowl Invitation With the season starting today, what better time to get a look at the Minutemen and see if they have improved and to take a look at their schedule before they open in Week 1. Coach @TBoostR, barring an unforeseen tragedy, is looking to be the first coach in UMass history to start two consecutive seasons for the Minutemen. In addition, the Minutemen are looking to have their first multi-win season in team history. Having played competitive football throughout 2023, the expectation around Amherst is to end this horrible streak in 2024. Key Additions: JUCO Transfer DT Leon Green 6-3 302 Jr Kaskaskia College (Centralia IL) 4.0 of 5.0 [1-Gap] QB Dennis Mackey 6-5 203 (Fr) Hoosac Valley (Cheshire MA) 2.5 of 4.0 [Scrambling] RB Martin Johnson 5-7 190 Fr Medford (Medford MA) 2.5 of 3.5 [Power] OG Elijah Sisson 6-2 281 Fr Mahar Regional (Orange MA) 2.0 of 3.5 [Pass Blocking] ILB JaQuan Joiner 6-4 232 Fr Hillsborough (Tampa FL) 3.0 of 3.0 [Mike]ILB Mohamed Bock 6-4 248 Fr Episcopal (Jacksonville FL) 3.0 of 3.0 [Mike] ILB Ibrahima Walton 6-3 229 Fr Hillsborough (Tampa FL) 1.0 of 2.5 [Will] After assessing the roster before the 2023 season, there was a distinct lack of depth across the entire roster. Keeping that in mind, Coach @TBoostR sought to get high character players that knew that winning would be a challenge. With JUCO DT Leon Green now plugging up the middle, teams won't be break off huge runs, a problem in 2023. Joining him on the defense are the three ILB's from Florida. UMass had absolutely no depth at ILB last year and all three should see significant playing time heading into the year. Though technically not a new addition, there is a new signal caller in Dennis Mackey. He will be taking the reigns from incumbent redshirt senior ER Coleman. He brings some speed and playmaking ability that UMass hasn't had before. Expect him to be mobile in and out of the pocket. RB Martin Johnson and OG Elijah Sisson should make his life easier with very physical styles of play. Team Captains: Offense: QB E.R. Coleman 6-4 195 (Sr) Bellefonte Area (Bellefonte, PA) 3.0 of 3.0 [Hybrid] C Bruce Hoskins 6-3 291 (Jr) Millis (Millis MA) 5.0 of 5.0 [Pass Blocking] Defense: FS Marc O'Malley 6-2 205 (Jr) Keefe Technical (Framingham MA) 5.0 of 5.0 [Zone Coverage] On offense, we have two co-captains this year. C Bruce Hoskins has been with the program for four years despite having serious potential to play in the pros. His character and devotion to this team has given hope to the locker room. In a similar vein, QB ER Coleman is a redshirt senior that has been with the program since the beginning. Redshirting in 2020, he has been a part of all of the victories in UMass history. The leader in passing yards (4,305), Passing touchdowns (27), and wins (2), he stuck with the program despite its struggles. On defense, FS Marc O'Malley has been a stable force in the secondary for the past two seasons. He looks to bolster his career stats and make a name for himself in scouting circles. 2024 Schedule: Week 0: BYE Week 1: Charlotte Week 2: @ Old Dominion Week 3: @ Georgia Southern Week 4: @ Ball State Week 5: Appalachian State Week 6: BYE Week 7: Army Week 8: @ Northern Illinois Week 9: Liberty Week 10: FIU Week 11: @ NMST Week 12: USF Week 13: @ UConn

    [2023] Week #2 - TNF

We just gave them too many points in the first half to finish the comeback. That second half should be a building block to focus on for next week. The trenches are a bit of concern this year, but we have some young guys there that just need to reps.

In three or more sentences, tell us a little about yourself. How old are you, what do you do, where are you from, why would you be a good fit here, etc. How’s it going everyone. I’m a 22 year old Covil Engineering student from Omaha, Nebraska. Finishing up my bachelors degree this year. I have plenty of time to devote to this. I’ve been looking for a realistic college football simulation experience since the death of NCAA football. I’ve tried many games, but none were able to capture the difficulty that I am looking for. I stumbled across a post on Reddit and was immediately interested. 6. This site can be as time consuming as you want it to be. Weekly duties can be completed in 30 minutes or less, however interacting with your fellow players throughout the week makes it more enjoyable for most people. Approximately, how much free time do you have during a typical week? 10-15 hours/week 7. Losing games is an inevitable reality on this site, especially when accepting newer teams. Do you believe you can handle losing? As I mentioned above, I’ve been looking for a difficult game to keep me engaged, and I think this is perfect. I want it to be a grind, and starting at UMass where wins are hard to come by is perfect. I want that first 7-6 bowl game season to feel like an accomplishment. I am prepared, and expecting to lose a lot, especially in this first season. 8. How did you find out about this site? If recommended by a friend, please post his/her username. I found a post Reddit, I cannot find the name of the account unfortunately.
