Pains me to not vote McCray at all, but Shea was just too good. Louis Peterson not being on DROY ballot makes me sad

Shea was good for a rookie, but McCray was just plain good.

Shea lead a team to a first round bye as the clear leader. That's damn good for anyone.

Oh don't even get me started on that...

I love McCray, most years he is rookie of the year, this year we had a rookie QB be a top 5 QB.

I'm not trying to be difficult here, but by what measure was Shea a top 5 QB? He was 10th in completion percentage (minimum 200 attempts), 6th in yards, 7th in TDs, and 8th in QB rating. He also had 12 INTs.

Amongst ALL RBs, McCray was 2nd in the league in rushing TDs, 3rd in rushing yards, and 4th in YPC (minimum 100 attempts). He also added 6 catches for 74 yards and 2 TDs, with zero fumbles the whole season.

Ron Thomas was 5 yards short of a 2000 yard season, 300 more yards than McCray.   He was top 5 in rushing TDs.   And the shoutbox pretty unanimously called him a failure.

323 yards more than McCray, actually. Thomas also had 96 more attempts, a lower YPC, 3 more fumbles, and 2 less touchdowns. The receiving stats were fairly comparable between the two, but Thomas had 0 receiving TDs and McCray had 2.

As an overweight 35 year old man, I could eventually get to 2000 yards if you gave me the ball often enough.

Maybe if you were playing middle school football you could get 2000 yards. After touching it about 10 times in NFL you would be dead though.

Although everything else you said is probably true :D

I'll admit that McCray is more deserving of ROY.  My statement was more about the shoutbox lynching that Ron Thomas took a couple weeks back after one bad game.
