Battle at Bryant-Denny

Xavier Burroughs and Dwayne Maddox exchanging words at last year's rivalry game.

In one of the most anticipated games of this season, LSU (3-0) who is looking to secure the #1 spot from SEC rival Auburn, takes on a very hungry Alabama (3-0) team looking to make their case for the SEC West and for the Playoffs. Taking place at Bryant-Denny Stadium, LSU is going into one of the loudest and most proud stadiums in the country. After departure of HC randye4 last season, new HC CadeRich5 is facing his biggest challenge yet. Can he keep his composure while faced against Tiger's HC cmcgill? Below is the tale of the tape.

Case for the Crimson Tide

Alabama currently sits at an expected (3-0) and has been led on defense by Sebastian Smallwood who currently has 6 sacks on the season. More than the entire LSU defense has (4). The dominant defense will be facing an amazing LSU offensive line which has averaged an OL rating of 7.40, second only to Vanderbilt (7.43). If Sebastian Smallwood can penetrate this wall developed by cmcgill, will that be enough pressure to rattle redshirt Junior QB Elias Allen-Hollis? So far Crimson Tide QB Antonio Pugh has had a great start to this season and is currently leading the SEC in yards (895), tied for TD's (7), and pass attempts (108). The receiving duo of A.J. Edwards and Drew Abbott have combined for 5 TDs and 496 yards so far this season. If HC CadeRich5 and the Crimson Tide can come in and repeat these results up against one of the best defenses in the country, they have a shot at this game.

Case for the Tigers

So far cmcgill's Tigers are the best team in the country arguably. With the fall of PSU last week, they have a good shot at being ranked #1 in this weeks polls which at the time of the writing on this article still haven't been released. The outstanding offensive line that cmcgill has assembled in Baton Rouge has allowed Elias Allen-Hollis and Jayden Huff to really run their offense. Jayden Huff is currently leading the SEC in YPC for running backs and 2nd in TD's with 6. Does CadeRich5 have the supporting cast up front to help out Smallwood and stop Huff? So far this dynamic offense has found a way to get it done, if Huff is off, get the ball to Maddox. Their air attack has been just as good as their dominate running game. But just like the Tiger's, CadeRich5 has a very strong offensive line that the defense will have to fight through to get to the quarterback.

Overall it seems like whoever can stop the offensive attack will be the team who will end up on top of this rivalry game. This game will be one of the most hyped and most hard fought games we will see in the SEC this season. Both of these teams are full of talent, and coached by experienced staff. But when the sun sets in Tuscaloosa, both of these teams will have to leave it all on the field in order to win.
