GOOD START IN STARKVILLE

The Mississippi State Bulldogs pulled off a close 27-23 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes behind a gutsy performance from QB Ryder Shipman who stayed in the game and threw for 323 yards and 3 TDs despite having fractured his thumb late in the third quarter.

PERFECT FIT

The Philadelphia Eagles topped the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football 31-28. The three headed monster in Philly's backfield: Allan Taylor, Troy White, and rookie Marshawn Miller put the whole league on notice with their performance.

EL CHACKO LOCO

The hype around North Dakota State QB Will Chacko continues to grow following a 389 yard 3 td performance which nearly resulted in an upset win for the Bison over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

GROUND CONTROL

The Kansas City Chiefs beat the New York Football Giants 27-0 despite only throwing the ball 6 times largely because of the legs of Terrence Rodgers and Justin Buchanan.

BACK IN BLACK

Hockey is back! And the Chicago Blackhawk's rookie sensation Anatoli Kolchenyuk picked up right where he left off notching yet another goal early in his rookie campaign.

Offensive :mac: Player of the Week: RB Owen Walton, Ohio :ohio:. 26 rushes for 124 yards, 1 TD (W vs. Kent State)

Another strong performance from Owen. Freaking. WALTON. Rampaging all over the Kent State defense he ended up just shy of a buck and a quarter on the ground, and the Golden Flash defense got real tired real quick of having to tackle him run after bruising run.  Walton is on pace for a 1350-yard regular season, yet this is somehow only his second ever Player of the Week award.  Rough competition in the MAC!

Defensive :mac: Player of the Week: OLB Donovan Pendleton, Ohio :ohio:. 1 sack, 6 tackles (W vs. Kent State)

Another Bobcat makes the list!  The talented junior from Wonewoc, WI shows up here with an impressive defensive performance, introducing himself to John Garland and the rest of the Kent State offense repeatedly.  While other nominees had similar statlines, we can only assume that Pendleton made it in over the others because he yelled at them really hard.

Special Teams :mac: Player of the Week: K Timmy Wilhelm, Ohio :ohio:. 3/3 FGs (made 29, 26, 35), 3/3 XP (W vs. Kent State)

We're running out of things to say about Wilhelm, this is his FOURTH go-around as Player of the Week this season!  Timmay is one of three kickers in the MAC still perfect on the year, and of those three he's converted the most field goals (17 of 17).  They're not gimmes either; seven of them are from 40+ including a 41 and 46-yarder in their win over Kent State.  Ohio is going to miss Timmay and his reliable leg when he graduates this year.

(And also that makes a clean sweep of awards for the Bobcats.  That's the THIRD time a team has done that this season, following Akron in Week 8 and Buffalo in Week 1.)

    Congratulations to all the winners!
