    Buccaneers RB Jackson suspended

    Recommended Posts

The NFL has suspended Tampa Bay Buccaneers' running back DeNorris Jackson two games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

A 16-game starter last season, Jackson will be eligible to participate during training camp and the preseason, but he will miss the first two games. He will be eligible to return Week 3.

If he still gets to travel with the team to Denver, I could see his suspension getting even longer, and his season going - ahem, up in smoke.

I’ve been out of town the last few days, I’ll be home tonight and will make an official statement then.

oh shoot, i forgot about this.

    Buccaneers statement:

"The Buccaneers organization stand firmly behind our players, coaches, and other staff members. As such, we will be launching our own investigation into the situation with Jackson. He is a great player, and a great presence in the locker room, and we'd hate to lose him for two very tough opponents. However, he is a grown man, and knows the team has a zero tolerance attitude toward this matter. At the conclusion of our investigation, if we agree with the NFLs findings, we will handle the matter internally. He is a smart man. We are sure regardless of what happens, he will grow and learn from this experience. Thank you, no further questions."
