Thursday Night Kickoff

Christian Skaggs and the Panthers travel to the desert to take on Nick Hall and the Raiders in the Season Opener.

Take A Bow

#1 Auburn cruises to a comfortable victory on the back of a powerhouse offense and a defense that left no room for TCU QB Felix Luck to breathe.

Great list but I'll add two more general things to add: (I realize it's too late for the first but someone could manage to stumble upon this thread in a year or two when the next hurricane hits a given area)

If you're told to evacuate, PLEASE do so. It doesn't matter if you've survived other storms fine; no 2 storms are alike and you could have been (and statistically probably was) away from the worst effects of the storm, while in this instance, you could possible bracing the strongest winds of the storm or dealing with a hurricane that is stronger or larger overall than the ones you survived with ease.

The category of a hurricane does not necessarily matter much in terms of hurricane impacts. The reason for this is the category of a hurricane is based only on maximum winds and does not take into account storm size. Since the windfield is larger in a larger hurricane, the sea level rise is greater not to mention that the strongest winds are felt over a larger area. On the other hand, sometimes a stronger hurricane can be small, which results in a really tight core with a sharp pressure gradient, and if you're the outside of the core, effects won't be that bad yet if you're in the eyewall of a very intense hurricane, the effects, primarily due to strong winds, will be catastrophic, even if the sea level rise is not anywhere near as large as what a larger storm of the same intensity would be.
