The top of the Table isn't surprising.  USC stays on top after their pair of dominating victories, and Wazzu moved ahead of the idle Huskies after similar results.  The bottom though... the bottom half is fascinating.  Maybe not the Wildcats, their jump after going into Reno and knocking off a Nevada squad that was receiving Top 25 votes impressed our voters here.  But winning the award for "Most Impressive Showing in Defeat" is the Stanford Cardinal(no s).  The Tree traveled south to sunny San Diego and gave the 14th-ranked Aztecs all they could handle in a 34-28 loss.  That was enough to make some voters reconsider the effectiveness of that freshman receiving corps and Troy McMurray, and thus their spot on the Table.
"Not as Impressive in Defeat?"  That would be the Bruins, who tried to make a game of it in Pullman but just couldn't keep pace with Bradley Hassan and Luke Sikuli.  This resulted in their unfortunate drop of four spots, just ahead of the 1-0 Beavers who voters aren't sold on quite yet it seems.

The Trojans are making an early statement that the road to the Pac-12 South title goes through LA Memorial Coliseum.  We've been keeping an eye on the Buffs as a dark horse for the division, and they'll have their chance this next weekend.  Redshirt freshman Mike Naylor was really impressive in his debut against Colorado State, but that USC front seven is another animal completely.

I'm really looking forward to the Arizona/Utah game, when games are back. Utah's line MIGHT be the only one that can keep Toney and Humphrey out of the backfield, but that's a long-shot.

Also, hope those Huskies are prepped and ready for the McMurray Attack--Stanford has some holes in the roster, certainly, but many did they play well at SDSU. If Jake Davis is off, the Cardinal could sneak up a bite ya!

    Power to the Pac!

Hype for this weeks game! Arizona look a stern test... can really see where my teams at. One things for sure though: someone’s ‘0’s gotta go! (Too early?..... probably) :ninja:

    (p.s. we are 1-0) :D

Someone please explain why UCLA is better then OSU.

Probably one or more of the following:

    • Oregon State is widely considered to have the least-talented roster in the Pac.
    • Their win came over a then-coachless Kent State and was probably devalued.
    • UCLA's played two tough games in Okie Light and Wazzu.
