[2022] Pac-12 Power Rankings after Week 10/ Call for Week 11 Ballots

    Recommended Posts

Last week's games involving the Conference of Champions went according to chalk, no upsets occurred.  So with that out of the way, did USC's two-score win over red-hot Troy McMurray influence the voters to rank them ahead of a Duck squad that pulled out an ugly win but lost running back Avery Dillard for a few weeks?  Let's find out; to the Table of Questionable Worth!

Remember: If you don't like where you are, it's because you didn't vote.  No, seriously.

    And then, the weekly Tracker:
So to answer the question above: No, although the margin between Oregon and USC is paper-thin.  Dillard's broken toe means he's going to miss four weeks, which takes him out of action at a really inopportune time; he'll miss playing vs. Stanford, at Washington, at Colorado.  Redshirt freshman Khiry Chavis takes over, but his inexperience puts the offensive weight squarely on QB Jason Baum's shoulders.
In actual Table-related news, none of Stanford's three losses are really bad bad (SDSU, Oklahoma, USC).  But they do have three of them so they slip beneath Washington this week.  Washington State didn't win by much over a game Utah squad, but win they did and so they jump over a reeling Wildcat squad.
This isn't a new concept to this feature, but the ranking tiers seem really well-defined this week.  More than that, there seem to be four of them - a first this season.
    Tier I: Oregon, USC
    Tier II: Washington, Stanford, Colorado
    Tier III: UCLA, WSU, Arizona
Tier IV: ASU, Cal, Utah, OSU
This is something we'll continue to monitor as the season progresses further.

    Bowl Watch!

Bowl Watch is your one-stop shop for seeing which teams from the Conference of Champions are, could, or won't be making a bowl.  Let's take a look!

Bowl-eligible with win this week: :zona: Arizona (5-3), :colorado: Colorado (5-2)
Eliminated with loss this week: :orst: Oregon State (2-6), :utah: Utah (2-6)

    This week's games:

    BYE:  :oregon: (6-1), :ucla: (5-3), :wsu: (5-3)
The P12 Network's Pick to Click?  Washington at Colorado.  Both teams need this game badly, as both are trailing their division leaders.  The Huskies are actually 1.5 games behind Oregon but have yet to play them, while Colorado is effectively two back of USC due to their week 3 loss against the Trojans.  For outside interested parties, the big matchup to watch is UW quarterback Jake Davis against the Buffaloes back seven, headlined by CB DeSean Barkley and OLB Sam Caron.

    Another great post from Jieret!

Happy to stay #1 for another week, though the 1 pt separating us from SC is totally appropriate.

Khiry Chavis has a decent debut in relief of Avery Dillard, so we’re hopeful there...
