This Week: In-state tailback Joseph Hatcher chooses the Bruins over USC and Colorado.  With Tremaine Clemons in the fold, Hatcher looks to be a change of pace back for UCLA.

Looking Forward: With punter Albert Abbrederis out of the picture, we expect the Bruins to be quiet until JuCo.

:uw: Washington Huskies (National Rank: 19, Class Size: 20) (-)

This Week: Still waiting on JuCo.

    Looking Forward: See above.

WR DeMarcus Dickens 6-1 214 Fr Eastlake (Chula Vista CA) 1.0 of 3.5 [Target]

P Albert Abbrederis 5-11 172 Fr Avenal (Avenal CA) 2.0 of 4.0 [Accuracy]

This Week: Lose a running back, gain a punter and a potential starter at that.  Abbrederis stands a real chance at playing as a true freshman next year.

Looking Forward: At 12 commits USC certainly has the room to add more players.  But whether anyone out there meets their standards is another question.  We're guessing they'll take this opportunity to crootbomb any players that catch their fancy.

:oregon: Oregon Ducks (National Rank: 22Class Size: 18) (-1)

ATH Derrick Armstrong 5-8 193 Fr Avenal (Avenal CA) 1.0 of 3.0 [Speed]

DT Brayden Westbrook 6-7 307 Fr Blue Ridge (Lakeside AZ) 1.0 of 4.0 [1-Gap]

DT John Drew 6-4 310 Fr Central (Independence OR) 1.0 of 3.5 [1-Gap]

DT Tierre Hassan 6-1 310 Fr Lompoc (Lompoc CA) 2.5 of 3.0 [1-Gap]
ILB Carlos Ramirez 6-2 246 Fr Paisley (Paisley OR) 1.5 of 5.0 [Mike]
ILB Harrison Kyle 6-1 213 Fr Powers (Powers OR) 1.0 of 3.5 [Will]

P Jordan Lehman 5-10 167 Fr Needles (Needles CA) 1.0 of 4.5 [Accuracy]
RB Luke Cleary 5-6 231 Fr Elmira (Elmira OR) 3.0 of 4.5 [Power]

RB Gael Calderon 5-8 206 Fr Watsonville (Watsonville CA) 1.0 of 3.0 [Power]
SS Taye Williams 6-2 206 Fr Mission Hills (San Marcos CA) 1.5 of 5.0 [Zone Coverage]

WR Dwayne Key 6-2 211 Fr Pampa (Pampa TX) 1.5 of 3.0 [Target]
WR Major Bryant 5-9 157 Fr Jordan Valley (Jordan Valley OR) 1.5 of 3.5 [Speed]

CB Kyle Dukes 6-0 197 Fr Mid-Pacific Institute (Honolulu HI) 1.0 of 3.0 [Zone Coverage]

DT Dillon Dickens 6-7 281 Fr Kahuku (Kahuku HI) 1.0 of 3.5 [2-Gap]

This Week:  Oregon reaches halfway across the ocean for their newest commits.  While Dillon Dickens is the higher-rated of the two players, he's also Oregon's FIFTH defensive tackle in this class, so outside of padding the class and perhaps hurting a division rival we're not sure why else the Ducks felt the need to recruit him.  Dukes is depth for that stacked Oregon secondary.

Looking Forward: We see Oregon in a similar situation to USC regarding future commits, except they are more likely to add just one more HS senior instead of however many they want.

RB Isaac Traylor 5-10 200 Fr Pine View (St. George UT) 1.0 of 3.5 [Speed]
SS Shaun Blackmon 5-10 201 Fr West Covina (West Covina CA) 1.0 of 4.5 [Man Coverage]
WR Dahntay Hayes 6-0 175 Fr Duncan (Duncan AZ) 1.0 of 4.0 [Speed]

WR Hunter Allen 5-9 175 Fr Layton Christian (Layton UT) 1.0 of 3.5 [Speed]

DT Rakeem Kimble 6-0 306 Fr Vernon (Vernon FL) 1.0 of 3.0 [2-Gap]

This Week: Utah reaches into the Sunshine State to land their first defensive tackle of the class.  Despite his size Rakeem Kimble will need a year or two in the weight room before he sees the field, but at least the Utes can afford to wait on him.

Looking Forward: Utah still leads Colorado for WR Matteo Seaman-Heller and still trails Stanford for DT Christian Roberson.

:zona: Arizona Wildcats (National Rank: 41Class Size: 14) (-)

CB Jermon Ellis 5-9 195 Fr Needles (Needles CA) 1.0 of 4.0 [Zone Coverage]

OG Maximus Melendez 6-1 278 Fr Galileo Academy (San Francisco CA) 1.5 of 3.5 [Pass Blocking]

OT Patrick Sorensen 6-3 271 Fr Fountain Hills (Fountain Hills AZ) 1.0 of 5.0 [Pass Blocking]
QB Tevin Rodriguez 6-2 205 Fr Hopi (Kearns Canyon AZ) 1.5 of 4.5 [Pocket]

RB Jerrick Blount 5-8 209 Fr Hamilton (Chandler AZ) 1.5 of 4.0 [Power]

WR Brayden Herring 5-11 171 Fr Catalina Magnet (Tucson AZ) 1.0 of 3.0 [Speed]
WR Reshad Spencer 6-4 210 Fr Independence (Glendale AZ) 1.5 of 3.0 [Target]

This Week: All quiet on the desert front for the Wildcats this week.

Looking Forward: We're not hearing any rumblings out of Tucson, but we'd be surprised if Arizona if fully done with HS recruiting.

OLB Jacob Curtis 6-0 230 Fr Lake Gibson (Lakeland FL) 1.0 of 3.0 [Coverage]

OT Tristan Lord 6-1 299 Fr West Valley (Hemet CA) 1.0 of 3.0 [Run Blocking]

This Week: A quartet of depth signings for the Cardinal, but the quantity and the fact that Drew and Curtis are the first at their positions moves Stanford up a notch in the national rankings.

Looking Forward: The Cardinal leads Utah for DT Christian Roberson, but with the class at 19 commits and three DTs in the fold already, is this a race Stanford wants to win?  They do want to save room for JuCo, after all.

:asu: Arizona State Sun Devils (National Rank: 83Class Size: 13) (-)

CB Olivier Nixon-Pressley 5-11 182 Fr La Joya Community (Avondale AZ) 1.5 of 3.0 [Zone Coverage]

OG Evan Escamilla 6-2 330 Fr Glendale (Glendale CA) 1.0 of 3.0 [Pass Blocking]

This Week: Two out of the four names we've been highlighting for the Sun Devils finally sign, as Nixon-Pressley and Escamilla join the fold.  Nixon-Pressley could see immediate action as Arizona State's dimeback, while Escamilla will probably redshirt then find himself in the two-deep rotation.

Looking Forward: Arizona State can still use (and has room for) cornerback Abdoul Lipscomb, guard Alex Adamson, and offensive tackle Benjamin Fallon.  They also lead on all three.

WR Matthew Hooper 5-11 189 Fr Amite (Amite LA) 1.0 of 3.5 [Speed]

This Week: Nothing this week for the Beavers.

Looking Forward: With rumors swirling around coach rkanders' disappearance (our favorite is that he was kidnapped by Bigfoot), it makes it near-impossible to predict what Oregon State will do.

OG Roger Bravo 6-4 300 Fr Charles Wright (Tacoma WA) 1.0 of 3.5 [Pass Blocking]
OT Donovan Coronado 6-6 309 Fr Montesano (Montesano WA) 1.0 of 3.0 [Pass Blocking]

WR Maximilian Newsome 6-3 157 Fr Fort Lauderdale (Fort Lauderdale FL) 3.0 of 3.5 [Speed]

OG Dante Bond 6-7 264 Fr Las Vegas (Las Vegas NV) 1.5 of 3.5 [Pass Blocking]

This Week: A long battle for Bond finally reaches an end as he moves from the desert to the Palouse.  He is slightly more advanced than fellow guard Roger Bravo, and is the more likely of the two to see playing time sooner.  They couldn't overcome the wall the Ducks put in their way for defensive tackle Dillon Dickens, however.

Looking Forward: We don't have any particular notice of where the Cougars could look next outside of JuCo, but with such a small class we believe coach @TuscanSota will continue to pursue HS recruits wherever he can.

OG Raphael Donnelly 6-6 312 Fr Valley (Bakersfield CA) 1.0 of 3.0 [Pass Blocking]

This Week: The class size doesn't change, but Cal continues to churn their commits as they sign three players and release three players.  The quality of the new players aren't any greater than the old ones, but we speculate that the Golden Bears are attempting to spread out the depth across the team.

Looking Forward: Cal still has a lot of fingers in a lot of pies; the trick is to figure out which ones they're actually interested in.  Our bets are on Florida DE Delvin Caldwell and in-state Will linebacker Theodore Landers.

:colorado: Colorado Buffaloes (National Rank: 120Class Size: 11) (+1)

ILB Trevor Westbrook 6-0 223 Fr Lahainaluna (Lahainaluna HI) 1.0 of 3.0 [Will]

TE Levi Taulealo 6-2 230 Fr Rockcastle County ( KY) 1.0 of 3.0 [Blocking]

This Week: Colorado finally gets a decent amount of bodies in the class, and three of them are the first at their position!   Lindsey will be the backup center after his redshirt, while the road to playing time for both Palma and Westbrook is longer.  Taulealo is likely just a body.

Looking Forward: The Buffs still lead on long snapper Jared Randle and are in tight battles over a trio of outside linebackers: Devon Bruce, Brayden Burr, and Nicholas Lowery.

And in chart form, how many JuCo recruits have interest in Pac-12 schools:

      Nat. Exp. (+25) Primary (+25) Secondary (+15) Secondary (+15) Family (+35)
    Arizona 0 2 0 0 0
    Arizona State 0 0 2 1 0
    California 0 0 0 2 0
    Colorado 0 0 2 0 0
    Oregon 2 1 1 0 0
    Oregon State 0 0 0 1 0
    Stanford 0 2 0 0 1
    UCLA 0 2 0 2 0
    USC 0 0 3 1 2
    Utah 0 1 0 0 1
    Washington 0 0 2 0 0
    Washington State 0 0 0 1 0

You can see some schools have more options than others but that's not always a good thing: With such a short recruiting period and simplified commitment rules a team such as USC will not be very likely to land all the recruits with interest in the Trojans.  Another school to watch is Oregon; their flashy uniforms attracted attention from several JuCos... but they're all in positions where the Ducks don't have a need.  How many of them will they lock up, or will they look at the "open" JuCos that don't favor any particular school?

    :pac::pac::pac:

With the 2022 JuCo rules not fully released we can't project where we think these recruits will land.  Hopefully we'll be able to discuss that next week.  So until then... on behalf of everyone at the Pac-12 Network, we wish you good times and happy crooting!
