After their thrilling OT win against Oklahoma and only days before a destined matchup in the national championship against Auburn, TCU coach DangerZoneh and players Felix Luck, Elliot McElmore, and Patrick Ross found time in between practices to speak to the media. Coach DangerZoneh approaches the podium.

DangerZoneh: "I want to start by giving credit where credit is due. These past two games have been an incredible test of our strength as a team and these guys, not only the ones sitting to my left, but the entire team, have stepped up to the plate in a massive way. Playing Oklahoma not once, twice, but three times is a challenge that not many teams could hold up to. We faced those demons and in the end, triumphed. An incredible amount of respect goes towards coach HAFFnHAFF and his team this year. They truly pushed us to the absolute limits. These guys have come such a long way, yet there stands one last challenge. In Auburn, we face a team who knows where they are. One who has been there before - and beaten us on the same stage in the same stadium. A team who will hold nothing back - and expects the same from their opponent. It's a long time coming for a challenge like this and a fully expect these men to step up their game even further. Elliot, four years ago, was a redshirt freshman. He watched our 2018 team reach for the stars and then once the lights get bright - all come crumbling down. He, along with the rest of the seniors, know what it's like when a team can't do it. When a team falls apart in the final moments. And I trust he knows that he won't let it happen again.

Alright, now we're all open for questions."

As you mentioned, you faced off with Auburn in this very stadium in the first game of the season.  What has changed for your team since then that you expect to play a role in a different outcome this time around?

DangerZoneh: "That's the big question isn't it? I think this team has gained a lot of experience over the year, especially in regards to players like Marcus Black. The last time a lot of these guys had faced off against a quarterback who can do what he does was two years ago against Mohammed Foster. Playing guys like a much improved Eric Pope and Akeel Morris has been a huge boost for their confidence in their ability to slow down Marcus Black. On the opposite side of the ball, I think we've gained a lot of balance since then. Nobody knew who Martin Gifford was when we played Auburn and he was a nonfactor in the game. Do NOT expect him to be a nonfactor in this one - it simply won't happen."

Good luck in the title game, coach. What needs to really go well for the Frogs to pull it out? Do you focus on limiting the Auburn run game, or try to shut down Black?

”Coach as you look back on the season, was there a moment when you realized you had a chance to make it and possibly win the National Championship?”

DangerZoneh: “Well we didn’t do a great job of either of those when we first played them, did we? Limiting the run game has been our calling card for the season. Each of our biggest wins has come when we stop the run in a big way. We’re gonna have to do similar to beat Auburn. At the same time, we can’t let Black throw all over us. But shutting him down is a task that few, if any, teams are up to.”

Elliot McElmore: “I’ve got this one. We knew the second we walked off the field last year after losing to Purdue. That’s the reason I came back - to be in this stage and this moment. That’s why Chance came back. That’s why Aidan and Aidan came back. That’s why Tyson came back. We knew there was unfinished business and we knew we could win it all with one more chance. That’s why we’re here. There was no point in the season where we realized this - we knew all along.”

Felix Luck: “Uh, yeah what he said.”
