Hoosier Daddy?

The last undefeated team in the Big Ten is... Indiana?!?! The Hoosiers went on the road and dominated Wisconsin en route to a 31-17 win.

Wegrets as QBs Wheeled Out For Season

Jets QB Erik Wegert severely ruptured his PCL on TNF, and Titans QB Thomas Wheeler tore his rotator cuff Sunday, significantly hurting the hopes of both teams for 2023.

Horned Frogs SteAMRALled

#6 Oklahoma State took it to TCU, going up 28-7 at halftime and winning 38-14. RB Amral Brown came up huge with 142 rushing yards and 2 TD.

100-yard Curse Blackballed

The Colts hadn't had a 100-yard rushing game since Tony Peaks posted 150 and 2 TD in Week 17 of 2018. 2 games of JB Blacknall later, a 5-year drought is broken.

Catch Or No Catch?

Bengals WR Adrian Jankowski was furious that this catch on MNF didn't count, and it led to a tantrum and fine. Was it a catch? Depends on the perspective.

The 2022 recruiting season was a two team race with Purdue and neighboring Illinois battling it our for conference supremacy. In the end, Purdue would leapfrog Illinois behind the addition of two JuCo players and takes home the title of top class in the B1G. Kudos to both coach inspiral and coach FlutieFlakes as each of their classes is absurd in it’s own right. The B1G West has always been a difficult division and it appears that trend will continue for some time to come.

The Fighting Illini struggled a bit on the field this season, but the future is certainly bright for Coach FlutieFlakes and he has to be thrilled with landing a top five recruiting class.

There is a ton of talent coming in this class, though Purdue’s class may consist of a few more players that can contribute immediately, this crop of recruits will make some noise for many years. With QB Jordan Harrison gaining a year of experience, the Illini should regain their usual form for the 2023 season.

Michigan hovered right around this spot for much of the season and checks in at #29 in the nation. A small class in terms of incoming freshman, the Wolverines were able to secure the commitments of three JuCo players. In reviewing this years class, head coach jmjacobs felt the team could have done a bit better was pleased overall. They were optimistic about JuCo and it appears that optimism paid off. Coach jmjacobs listed wide receiver Antonio Jackson as the player they were most excited for and has high hopes for the talented incoming freshman.

When asked if there were any recruits that got away, jmjacobs mentioned that his staff was high on 5 star Athlete, Reshad Davenport. Davenport figures to play linebacker in college and chose to sign with Western Michigan University over an offer from the Wolverines.

Much like Michigan, Penn State brings in a small class of 14 recruits. While the class may be small, coach grv413 did well for himself adding some high end talent led by 5 star receiver, Savion Saunders. Saunders may be given an opportunity to redshirt as the Nittany Lions were able to add the services of 5 star JuCo receiver, Dominic Dixon. Dixon has one year of eligibility remaining and will want to maximize his opportunities as he prepares for the NFL draft.

Nebraska and coach caesari snuck up on everyone on their way to winning the conference and the same could be said for their recruiting. Finishing right behind Michigan and Penn State, the Cornhuskers added two nice JuCo players to solidify what was already a solid recruiting class. JuCo Offensive Guard Cason Sheppard figures to slide into starting spot immediately.

After landing 5 star JuCo defensive end, Damien Atkins, the Buckeyes and coach feverful jumped five spots to finish the season with the 35th ranked class in the country.

The Buckeyes coach was pleased overall with their recruiting class, though they felt they missed out on a few players that they were targeting. With some potential early departures, the staff was looking to fill those positions in the event a player should declare for the NFL.

feverful was most excited about incoming 5 star receiver, Dajuan Page. Page along with fellow incoming receiver, 4.5 star Trevor Dutton, makes the coach optimistic about the teams offense in the years to come. Coach feverful also felt that incoming Punter, Drew Stanfield, will have the most immediate impact. He felt that lack of punting has hurt them in the past and is hopeful Stanfield will be to flip the field position for the defense.

When asked about “the one that got away,” coach feverful pointed to 4.5 star defensive end Wardell Jean-Georges. Jean-Georges opted to sign with Toledo and has the skills to be a contributor immediately.

The B1G had five teams ranked between 29 and 40 and Iowa checks in at the #40 spot. Previously ranking 33rd, the Hawkeyes dropped seven spots after JuCo signings.

The Hawkeyes bring in a full class of 21 recruits and that is exactly what head coach wrigleyfan was hoping for. In speaking about this year's class, the head coach pointed out the need to build depth on the roster. While they acknowledge that there’s not an abundance of top end talent, there is definitely a good group 4 star or higher players.

The Hawkeyes coach was most excited about 4.5 star offensive guard, Anthony Maxwell. Citing the below average play of the offensive line, wrigleyfan felt that Maxwell will be a welcome addition to the bubs. The coach also felt that Maxwell, or fellow guard prospect, Javier Elizondo, will have the most immediate impact for the Hawkeyes.

Coach wrigleyfan couldn’t help but think about how the offensive line might look had the the team landed the services of guard Dillon Dooley. Dooley, a 5 star prospect, chose to sign with in-state rival Iowa State which was a tough pill to swallow for the coach.

This class is boosted by the addition of two 4.5 star JuCo commits, but the new staff will have 6 incoming freshman rated 4.0 or higher to work with. Those six players would be best served to redshirt for a year if possible, but have the skillset to contribute if need be.

The Golden Gophers had a truly unique recruiting season that is hard to describe. Coach lucas95 sat with a only a handful of highly rated commits for much of the season. Yet, the addition of three JuCo players and some additional depth signings, helped to push this class from the bottom of the conference to top 60 in the country. 5 star defensive tackle, Marcus Major, is the gem of this class and should be a key contributor as a freshman. The JuCo signings are a welcome addition to a class that could have been low on numbers and talent without them.

Northwestern checks in with the 70th ranked recruiting class. Former coach robcarlson77 had focused on building depth across the roster with this class and seemed to have accomplished that goal. The Wildcats went all in on JuCo QB Devon Wardwell. The Illinois native would have been a huge get for the Wildcats as they looked to replace the departing E.J. McGuire. Many feel that the timing of the coach’s departure was what made Wardwell choose FCS Illinois State over the Wildcats.

Prior to his departure, coach robcarlson77 said he was pleased with his class overall. There’s only a few high end players, but the coach was most excited about defensive tackle Xavier Williams who he felt would also provide the most immediate impact at a position of need.

When asked about a recruit that got away, robcarlson77 quickly cited defensive end Jonathan Stiles. The 5 star recruit would have been a huge get for a team that needed help on the defensive line. Northwestern was thought to be the favorite early on, but Stiles pledged to rival Illinois after taking a visit to the campus.

Coach Jamzz and the Hoosiers found themselves mired near the bottom of the conference for much of the recruiting season. However, things improved towards the end of the season and the Hoosiers were able to get out of the triple digits. The addition of 4 star JuCo defensive tackle, Anquan Everett, is a big get for Coach Jamzz and is a player that will be an immediate help on the defensive line.

Unfortunately, someone has to come in last in the rankings and this season it’s Coach SlinkyJr and the Spartans. This recruiting season is likely one that the coach would like to forget. MSU is the only team in the B1G to finish outside of the top 100 and was surpassed by many MAC schools. The coach will need to take advantage of the success they had on the field this season and avoid a repeat performance in recruiting. Recruiting is the lifeblood of the program and multiple poor classes can catch up to a team in the future.
