Wegrets as QBs Wheeled Out For Season

Jets QB Erik Wegert severely ruptured his PCL on TNF, and Titans QB Thomas Wheeler tore his rotator cuff Sunday, significantly hurting the hopes of both teams for 2023.

Horned Frogs SteAMRALled

#6 Oklahoma State took it to TCU, going up 28-7 at halftime and winning 38-14. RB Amral Brown came up huge with 142 rushing yards and 2 TD.

100-yard Curse Blackballed

The Colts hadn't had a 100-yard rushing game since Tony Peaks posted 150 and 2 TD in Week 17 of 2018. 2 games of JB Blacknall later, a 5-year drought is broken.

Iowa Hawkeyes release 2023 football schedule

Iowa City, IA - The Iowa Hawkeyes have released their schedule for the upcoming 2023 football season.  Coach wrigleyfan and the Hawkeyes open the season at home against Conference USA opponent Western Kentucky.  Iowa then the Iowa State Cyclones in the annual Cy-Hawk rivalry game.  After a bye week the Hawkeyes open their B1G conference schedule week 4 on the road at State College vs the Penn State Nittany Lions.  Iowa's other road games also present big challenges as they will travel to play at Minnesota (week 5), at Purdue (week 7), at Ohio State (week 10), and at Illinois (week 14).  Iowa's home schedule is also filled with quality opponents as Kinnick Stadium welcomes Nebraska (week 9), Michigan State (week 11), Northwestern (week 13), and Wisconsin (week 16). 

 

Here are some fun facts for the 2023 Iowa Hawkeyes football schedule:

  • After hosting Iowa State week 2 Iowa's next home game is not until week 9 against Nebraska after 4 road games and 2 bye weeks
  • Iowa will play in 4 rivalry/trophy games - Iowa State (Cy-Hawk trophy), Minnesota (Floyd of Rosedale), Nebraska (Heroes trophy), and Wisconsin (Heartland trophy)
