Pope, Eric, the Second

#7 Oklahoma QB Eric Pope reclaimed his starting job, and proceeded to go 25/36 for 343 yards and 4 TD as Oklahoma routed Texas 52-13.

Devy Flexes His Guns in Miami

The Saints pull the upset over Miami. Saints QB Aaron Devereaux threw for 3 TD as the New Orleans defense held Miami to 5 rushing yards in the 31-27 victory.

Meep Meep

UTSA snaps #11 Rice's 26-game winning streak in CUSA games with a decisive 31-20 road victory. QB Justin Radford threw for 208 yards and had 3 total TDs.

Foster: Chicagoan for QB

Bears QB Mohammed Foster has come into his own as the team has jumped to a 6-3 start. Foster put up 102 on the ground, including a 45-yard TD, in a 20-10 victory over LA.

OG Larry Bush 6-7 259 Fr Glendale (Glendale CA) 2.0 of 4.5 [Pass Blocking]
OG Gavin Bautista 6-3 258 Fr Galileo Academy (San Francisco CA) 1.5 of 4.0 [Run Blocking]

OLB Cayden Branch 6-1 243 Fr Vernon Kilpatrick (Malibu CA) 1.0 of 3.0 [Coverage]

TE Jesse Nelson 6-1 212 Fr Fontana (Fontana CA) 1.0 of 3.5 [Receiving]
WR D'Mario Russell 6-1 188 Fr Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland CA) 1.0 of 5.0 [Speed]
WR Kiuga Faletolu 6-2 151 Fr Vernon (Vernon FL) 1.0 of 5.0 [Speed]

This week: UCLA goes two for two against the SJSU Spartans.  Both of this week's commits were players they were fighting with San Jose over, although we don't expect to see either one starting soon.  Faresa-Tuputala could make his way into the two-deeps after his redshirt season, though.

Looking forward: The Bruins continue to stay in-state.  They still lead for center Devin Comer over ASU, and they lead on 3-star (Chula Vista) tackle Usher Gooch.

:usc: USC Trojans (Class Size: 9, National Rank: 7) (+/-0)

CB Rashawn Brinson 6-1 162 Fr Argonaut (Jackson CA) 2.0 of 5.0 [Man Coverage]

DE Kamar Lott 6-4 263 Fr Lake Stevens (Lake Stevens WA) 1.5 of 5.0 [Blitz]

DT Mateo Martinez 6-3 288 Fr Mt. Diablo (Concord CA) 1.5 of 4.5 [2-Gap]
ILB Max Brabham 6-2 247 Fr Galileo Academy (San Francisco CA) 1.5 of 5.0 [Mike]
K Tim Rosenberg 5-8 187 Fr Sonoma Valley (Sonoma CA) 1.0 of 4.0 [Power]
KR Luca Morse 6-0 233 Fr West Covina (West Covina CA) 2.5 of 3.0 [Hybrid]
OT Javari Hightower 6-3 273 Fr Glendale (Glendale CA) 1.5 of 5.0 [Pass Blocking]
SS Brayden Land 5-10 190 Fr Valley (Bakersfield CA) 1.0 of 3.5 [Zone Coverage]
TE Sean Graham 6-6 234 Fr Seneca (Seneca SC) 2.0 of 5.0 [Receiving]

This week: The Trojans take a couple on the chin this week as Bakersfield RB Hampton Moore goes north to play for Fresno State instead of south to USC.  Merced fullback Joel Grady does go south to continue his California football career, but he's heading past Los Angeles and heading to San Diego and the Aztecs.

Looking forward: At least USC still leads on Fairfield DE Omar Watson over Cal and Fresno.

:utah: Utah Utes (Class Size: 8, National Rank: 22) (-2)

CB Tierre Harvey 6-2 198 Fr Cumberland Valley (Mechanicsburg PA) 1.0 of 5.0 [Man Coverage]
CB Jeremy Wesley 5-11 176 Fr Port St. Lucie (Port St. Lucie FL) 1.0 of 4.5 [Man Coverage]
DE Ha'Sean Watson 6-2 245 Fr Meigs County (Decatur TN) 2.0 of 4.0 [Contain]
ILB Rakeem Dubose-Seay 5-11 233 Fr Archbishop McCarthy ( FL) 1.0 of 4.5 [Will]

ILB A.J. Marshall 6-3 232 Fr Good Counsel (Wheaton MD) 2.0 of 3.0 [Mike]
SS Marcedes Hudson 6-2 182 Fr Inlet Grove (Riviera Beach FL) 1.0 of 3.0 [Man Coverage]

WR Booker Sproles 5-11 160 Fr Lakeland (Lakeland FL) 1.0 of 4.5 [Speed]

WR Brandon Saucedo 6-3 187 Fr Florida Christian (Miami FL) 2.5 of 4.0 [Speed]

This week: Utah recovers some by signing a trio of players.  WR22 Brandon Saucedo is the prize out of the group, he could easily start next year opposite Zain Hyde and move Dahntay Hayes to the slot.  Marshall will probably be the primary backup at Mike after a redshirt, and Hudson probably should redshirt but could be the backup SS immediately.

Looking forward: Tennessee is now officially the Utah-North Carolina battleground.  They're still locked on the same two defensive recruits, DE Freddie Lawrence and DT Ne'igalomeatiga Tele.  Nothing's moved from last week (Utah leads for Lawrence, UNC for Tele) and this could very well go down to the bitter end.

:uw: Washington Huskies (Class Size: 14, National Rank: 27) (-2)

C Filip Lind 6-1 289 Fr East Bakersfield (Bakersfield CA) 1.0 of 3.5 [Run Blocking]

CB Nicholas Love 6-2 182 Fr Munroe Day (Quincy FL) 1.0 of 4.0 [Man Coverage]

DE Natrone Scales 6-1 240 Fr Mid-Pacific Institute (Honolulu HI) 1.0 of 4.0 [Blitz]
ILB Tazwell Sneed 6-1 243 Fr North Thurston (Lacey WA) 1.0 of 3.5 [Will]
OG Jay Melendez 6-3 317 Fr Renton (Renton WA) 1.0 of 3.5 [Run Blocking]
OG Jude Lynch 6-2 269 Fr East Bakersfield (Bakersfield CA) 2.0 of 3.5 [Pass Blocking]
OLB John Beach 6-3 229 Fr Lake Stevens (Lake Stevens WA) 1.5 of 3.5 [Coverage]
OT Eric Casper 6-7 270 Fr Charles Wright (Tacoma WA) 1.0 of 3.5 [Run Blocking]
OT Moe Blackley 6-4 274 Fr Shelton (Shelton WA) 1.0 of 5.0 [Pass Blocking]
QB Anthony Holmes 6-6 239 Fr Grand Junction (Grand Junction CO) 1.0 of 5.0 [Pocket]
RB Andre Clay 5-11 202 Fr Decatur (Federal Way WA) 1.0 of 4.0 [Power]
SS Theodore Posey 6-0 181 Fr North Thurston (Lacey WA) 1.0 of 3.5 [Zone Coverage]
TE Geovanny Suarez 6-0 223 Fr Martin County (Stuart FL) 1.0 of 3.5 [Blocking]
WR Devin Lovett 6-0 172 Fr El Dorado (Placerville CA) 1.0 of 3.5 [Speed]

This week: A key commit comes out of nowhere!  CB36 Nicholas Love was considering UCF and Colorado when the Huskies made a full-court press for him, and he immediately signed to play in Montlake.  This gives the Huskies only their second corner on the roster with pro potential, after junior Kofi Dennis.

Looking forward: UDub still leads on another Florida cornerback, Mikal Tyler, while seemingly nothing's changed for Idaho defensive end Max Lewis Jr. with the Ducks and Huskies his main suitors.

:wsu: Washington State Cougars (Class Size: 5, National Rank: 38) (-11)

ILB Owen Potts 6-1 226 Fr Lake Stevens (Lake Stevens WA) 1.0 of 4.0 [Will]

OG Marshal Rector 6-3 293 Fr Bothell (Bothell WA) 1.0 of 3.0 [Run Blocking]
OG DeVante Brooks 6-5 331 Fr Dreher (Columbia SC) 1.5 of 2.5 [Pass Blocking]

OLB Keme Penn 5-11 225 Fr Decatur (Federal Way WA) 1.0 of 3.5 [Coverage]

OLB Lamont Douglas 5-11 236 Fr Chatfield (Chatfield MN) 1.0 of 3.0 [Coverage]
OLB Parker Price 5-11 229 Fr Danville (Danville AR) 1.0 of 2.5 [Blitz]

OT Julien Noble 6-2 297 Fr El Dorado (Placerville CA) 1.0 of 2.5 [Run Blocking]
OT Alex Mcginnis 6-7 293 Fr Charles Wright (Tacoma WA) 1.0 of 2.5 [Pass Blocking]

QB Jared Raddick 6-4 226 Fr IMG Academy (Bradenton FL) 2.5 of 5.0 [Hybrid]
SS Shawntez Crump 6-1 181 Fr Richland (Richland WA) 1.0 of 5.0 [Zone Coverage]

SS Isaac Crockett 5-10 188 Fr Taylor (Kokomo IN) 1.0 of 2.0 [Man Coverage]

WR Brett Messer 5-10 185 Fr Bothell (Bothell WA) 1.0 of 4.5 [Speed]

This week: The Cougars easily sign the most recruits this week with a healthy seven.  How many of them do Wazzu actually want to see on the field?  Ehh.  Guard Marshall Rector probably stands the best chance of eventually starting, although if that happens something went really wrong.

Looking forward: The Cougs took the lead on 5-star linebacker Kamar Brandon over Boise State and Nevada quarterback Tanquest Bryant is being courted by both WSU and BYU.

:oregon: Oregon Ducks (Class Size: 10, National Rank: 41) (+32)

DE Ewekapu Kekoa 6-3 254 Fr Kamehameha (Honolulu HI) 1.0 of 4.0 [Contain]

LS Antonio West 6-3 261 Fr Vernon Kilpatrick (Malibu CA) 1.0 of 5.0 [Traditional]
OG Mario Valencia 6-2 300 Fr Capital (Boise ID) 1.0 of 3.5 [Pass Blocking]
OG Quinn Geiger 6-5 327 Fr Powers (Powers OR) 1.0 of 3.5 [Run Blocking]
OLB Asher Carroll 6-1 220 Fr Beaverton (Beaverton OR) 1.0 of 4.0 [Coverage]

OT Will Humphrey 6-5 298 Fr Filer (Filer ID) 1.0 of 5.0 [Pass Blocking]
OT Spencer Vogel 6-6 298 Fr Lebanon (Lebanon OR) 1.0 of 4.0 [Run Blocking]

QB Carter Quigley 5-11 196 Fr Ripon (Ripon CA) 1.0 of 3.5 [Hybrid]
TE Isaiah Colbert 6-6 203 Fr Seton Catholic (Chandler AZ) 1.0 of 3.5 [Receiving]

WR Kyle Carpenter 5-11 180 Fr Rocky Mountain (Meridian ID) 2.0 of 4.0 [Speed]

This week: Oregon finally makes an appearance in the upper half of the conference rankings after signing a pair of five-star trench players, so consider our worries assuaged - for now.  The Ducks had to pry Humphrey away from the Gem State and Boise, and longsnapper West can at least pitch in a bit at center if needed.  They did lose in-state tackle Isaac McIntyre to Texas, however.

Looking forward: Some battles done, a few more to go.  In Idaho Boise isn't letting defensive end Uterius Carter-Sutton go easily, while the Huskies are still within range of Max Lewis Jr.   In Utah, Oregon leads BYU on DT A.J. Main and trails BYU on kicker Vaughn Bouchard.  Closer to home Nevada is leading on local DT Stephen Main.

:orst: Oregon State Beavers (Class Size: 8, National Rank: 49) (+2)

DT Israel Booker 6-6 329 Fr Edison (Stockton CA) 1.5 of 4.0 [2-Gap]
ILB Abdoul Dubose 6-4 249 Fr Durant (Durant MS) 1.0 of 4.0 [Mike]
ILB Usher Sherman 6-2 243 Fr Trabuco Hills (Mission Viejo CA) 1.0 of 4.0 [Will]
K Gavin Belanger 5-10 180 Fr El Dorado (Placerville CA) 1.0 of 4.0 [Accuracy]
LS Jared Coughlin 6-2 245 Fr American (Hialeah FL) 1.0 of 4.5 [Traditional]

OLB Carter Fletcher 6-0 230 Fr Newberg (Newberg OR) 1.0 of 4.0 [Coverage]
QB Riley Grossman 6-0 211 Fr Needles (Needles CA) 1.0 of 4.0 [Scrambling]
QB Will Braun 6-3 190 Fr Mission San Jose (Fremont CA) 2.0 of 3.5 [Scrambling]
WR Richard Weathers 5-11 156 Fr Lahainaluna (Lahainaluna HI) 1.0 of 4.0 [Speed]

This week: The Beavers sign a good one in local 4-star Fletcher (OLB38).  Oddly enough, his only other offer came from Portland State - guess no one else liked their chances at signing him.

Looking forward: All the highlighted battles still apply - in pretty much the same positions too.  Oregon State still leads on Louisiana DE11 Zharvis Boucher (over ULM) and Michigan C12 Jerrod Mattingly (over Ball State) but trails Indiana on Pennsylvania DT36 Giovanni Langston.

:zona: Arizona Wildcats (Class Size: 8, National Rank: 61) (-3)

DE Dwayne Briggs 6-3 251 Fr Moon Valley (Phoenix AZ) 1.0 of 4.0 [Blitz]
DE Malik Aiken 6-6 248 Fr Desert Eagle (Scottsdale AZ) 2.0 of 3.5 [Contain]
DT Andrew Lauer 6-6 306 Fr Clifton (Clifton AZ) 1.0 of 3.5 [2-Gap]
DT Siaosi Autagavaia 6-4 325 Fr Thatcher (Thatcher AZ) 2.5 of 4.0 [2-Gap]
ILB Myles Lipscomb 6-1 222 Fr Willow Canyon (Surprise AZ) 1.0 of 3.5 [Will]
OG Vince Obrien 6-2 273 Fr Long Beach Polytechnic ( CA) 1.0 of 4.0 [Run Blocking]
WR Takeo Marshall 5-9 194 Fr Holbrook (Holbrook AZ) 1.0 of 4.5 [Speed]

This week: Another week without a new player coming to Tuscon.

Looking forward: Utah wideout Hakeem Muhammad is now leaning towards staying home, favoring the local Great Value Utah State Aggies over the Wildcats.  In better news for Arizona, they hold a slim lead over Hawaii for California kicker Jesse Wilhelm.

:asu: Arizona State Sun Devils (Class Size: 11, National Rank: 75) (-7)
ATH D'Andre Robinson 6-2 244 Fr Hamilton (Chandler AZ) 1.5 of 3.0 [Contain]
C Steven Carney 6-1 240 Fr River Valley (Mohave Valley AZ) 1.5 of 3.0 [Run Blocking]
K David Dodson 6-3 157 Fr West Covina (West Covina CA) 1.0 of 3.5 [Accuracy]

OT Dillon Hutson 6-1 263 Fr Fontana (Fontana CA) 1.5 of 4.0 [Pass Blocking]
OT Brandon Hammer 6-7 298 Fr Suncoast (Riviera Beach FL) 1.0 of 3.5 [Run Blocking]
OT Jeffrey Villegas-Marquez 6-4 274 Fr Blue Ridge (Lakeside AZ) 1.0 of 3.0 [Pass Blocking]
QB Jaden Schrader 6-2 192 Fr Clifton (Clifton AZ) 1.0 of 3.5 [Scrambling]
QB Mark Jansen 6-3 223 Fr Clifton (Clifton AZ) 1.0 of 5.0 [Hybrid]
RB Eddie Hope 6-1 211 Fr Davis (Kaysville UT) 1.5 of 3.5 [Power]

RB Dwayne Harper 6-0 191 Fr Duncan (Duncan AZ) 1.0 of 3.0 [Speed]
WR Luke Moss 6-4 162 Fr Alhambra (Phoenix AZ) 1.0 of 3.0 [Speed]

This week: Bad news for Sparky, DT33 Ali Loomis left the beaches of Florida for the hills of Arkansas State rather than the desert of Tempe.

Looking forward:  Arizona State still trails UCLA for center Devin Comer but leads Arizona for tackle Isaac Callahan.

:cal: California Golden Bears (Class Size: 2, National Rank: 95) (-5)
DT Constantine Holland 6-6 314 Fr Justin-Siena (Napa CA) 1.0 of 4.0 [1-Gap]
OLB Ned Morin 5-11 226 Fr Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland CA) 1.5 of 4.5 [Coverage]

This week: Still no joy as defensive end Tiontay Proctor signed with Air Force, and no word on any other new commits came in.

Looking forward: Maybe next week?  There's still DE Omar Watson and a smattering of others to hang some hope on to.

:stanford: Stanford Cardinal (Class Size: 2, National Rank: 97) (-6)

K Filip Russ 6-3 211 Fr Trabuco Hills (Mission Viejo CA) 1.0 of 3.0 [Power]
OG Shaq English 6-5 307 Fr Tarkington (Cleveland TX) 1.0 of 5.0 [Run Blocking]

This week: Eh.

Looking forward: Look, we'll put some effort into this entry when Stanford does, okay?

:colorado: Colorado Buffaloes (Class Size: 6, National Rank: 143) (-2)

C Atini Fatu 6-2 253 Fr Provo (Provo UT) 1.0 of 3.0 [Pass Blocking]

DT Vontrae Cleveland Jr. 6-3 314 Fr J.K. Mullen (Denver CO) 1.0 of 2.5 [2-Gap]
DT Jayden Sproles 6-3 314 Fr Akron (Akron AL) 1.0 of 2.0 [2-Gap]
FB Lawrence Dupree 6-1 259 Fr Lee Central (Bishopville SC) 1.0 of 2.5 [Run Blocking]
SS Xavier Barney 6-1 180 Fr DeLand (DeLand FL) 3.0 of 3.0 [Man Coverage]
TE Gustavo Castellanos 6-4 201 Fr Falcon (Falcon CO) 2.0 of 3.0 [Receiving]

This week: Leave the fish dangling on the string too long and a bigger fish will come along and snatch it away.  That's what happened with FS21 Matthew Lindsey who favored Colorado for so many week only to fall in love with South Alabama and sign there.

Looking forward: There are still some Buffalo leads!  QB Filip Petty favors them over UTEP and Colorado leads Pitt on defensive end Jaylen Rowe.  These leads really need to translate into wins soon, though.

:pac::pac::pac:

Thanks for coming by everyone, we'll see you next week after another exciting round of Pac-12 Recruiting.  On behalf of everyone at the Pac-12 Network, we wish you good times and happy crooting!

Not the place for bitching about recruiting misses, but AI Colorado hanging on for a couple extra weeks really killed my early strategy for getting McIntyre...damn Buffs and super damn the Longhorns.
