Rankings from Coaches Poll

The 2015 ACC Championship Game will be the 3rd championship game for the ACC. Florida State, at 11-1, will represent the Atlantic. 9-3 North Carolina would have represented the Coastal, but since they were stripped of bowl eligibility and participation in this game for 2015, the 2nd place Pittsburgh Panthers, at 6-6, will represent the Coastal.

Teams

Florida State Seminoles

The Florida State Seminoles' offense, led by Heisman candidate Akili Wallace, is a huge part of their appearance in this game. The Seminoles relied heavily on good rushing performances from Wallace and QB Dick Cook. Along with a top 5 rushing defense led by an outstanding defensive line, and the Seminoles are great at running while being hard to run on. Their only loss in their 11-1 season is to #1 Penn State, a big part of the reason they sustain such a high place in the rankings despite what some would consider a softer schedule.

Pittsburgh Panthers

The Pittsburgh Panthers, led by star QB James Dale, should consider themselves just lucky to be here. Though they are a top 10 passing team in the nation, they do not stand out in any specific category besides a horrendous turnover differential (-7). A huge underdog, the Panthers, led by Dale's passing attack on offense as well as Dick Butkus Award finalist Michael Williams on defense, will need to stop FSU's potent rushing attack while trying to get ahead early. Though they cannot advance to the playoffs with a win, an ACC title in this season would be unexpected.
