The 2015 Alamo Bowl was the 3rd annual game in this series of matchups between the Pac-12 and the Big 12. While normally this is the top non-access bowl game for both conferences, this game featured each conference's #3 representatives since both conferences had a wild card in the playoff. Kansas, the Big 12 representative, upset the 10th-ranked Oregon Ducks of the Pac-12 by a score of 24-21 on a 37-yard field goal from Joshua Stewart with 1 second left. DeAndre Jackson, who was 13-19 for 153 yards and 2 TD, was named the game's MVP.

Teams

Oregon Ducks

Oregon entered this game 10-2, finishing in 2nd place in the Pac-12 North behind Stanford. They were led by one of the top rushing attacks in the country led by halfback Shawn Anderson and supplemented by the play of Jasen Broadnax. Their season was highlighted by a 17-14 win over then-#3 Alabama in Week 4, but consecutive losses to Arizona and Stanford were enough to knock them out of the playoff hunt.

Kansas Jayhawks

Kansas finished the regular season 7-5, finishing in 2nd place in the Big 12 North behind Oklahoma. They, too, had one of the nation's best run games led by halfback Paul Gibbs and quarterback DeAndre Jackson. Their season was highlighted by a 23-20 win over then-#1 Oklahoma in Week 7, but a 2-3 start and an 0-2 finish cost them a chance at the Big 12 title and a playoff bid.
