Rankings from Coaches Poll

The 2019 Big 12 Championship Game was the 7th championship game for the Big 12 Conference and the final championship game under the divisional format. 7th-ranked North champion Oklahoma defeated 4th-ranked South champion Baylor, using a strong third quarter to take the lead for good in a 35-21 win. This is Oklahoma's first conference title since defeating Texas Tech in the year of their national championship run in 2015. It was Baylor's first title game appearance since their inaugural season in 2014.

Teams

Oklahoma

Oklahoma clinched a title game berth in week 12 with a dramatic 23-20 come-from-behind overtime victory over Iowa State. That win was part of an 11-1 regular season, which also included wins over four other ranked teams. They were led by junior quarterback Graham Burnett and seventh-year head coach ChicagoTed1. This was their third title game appearance (2015, 2016) and second conference championship (2015).

Baylor

Baylor clinched a title game berth in week 14, defeating Texas Tech 24-23 on a last-second field goal after rallying from a 17-0 first-half deficit--a finish reminiscent of their 2014 division-clinching win over Oklahoma State. The Bears had already broken the 2018 squad's school record for wins (11). They were led by Marcus Swartz, Sean Bell, and second-year head coach TuscanSota. This was their second title game appearance, and for the second time they were unable to secure the conference championship.
