Alexander "Xander" Williams (born March 15, 1991) is an American football Quarterback who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Texas A&M. He was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the 24th overall pick in the 2014 NFLHC Draft.

Early Years

Alexander was born in the small Northwest Texas town of Bovina. Despite a population of less than 2,000, football was still very important in the community. Growing up, Xander displayed great athleticism and a a high football IQ. He played for the Bovina Mustangs and started all 4 years, leading the team to three consecutive UIL Class A Division II playoff appearances, and a championship game appearance in his senior year. During his time at Bovina, he set school records in nearly every QB category, including: passing touchdowns, rushing yards (single season & career), career passing yards, rushing touchdowns, and yards per carry. Despite his impressive career, the level of competition he faced steered many universities away from him. With offers from Rice, Texas A&M, and Houston, he decided to play for the Aggies.

College Career

Alexander Williams attended Texas A&M for 4 years, declaring for the NFL Draft after his senior year.

Draft

In the 2014 NFLHC Draft, the Cleveland Browns selected Brown with the 24th overall pick. He is the first quarterback to start for the Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns

Williams was the starting QB for the Browns for their first three seasons in the league and made the Pro Bowl in 2016. Following the 2016 NFLHC Season, Williams rejected the Re-Signing offer from The Browns. He went into the 2016 offseason as the marquee free agent on the market. It was expected that Williams would receive offers in excess of $15 million per year. After a heated bidding war between the Seahawks and the Chiefs, Alexander signed a 2 year/$35 Million deal with Seattle.

Seattle Seahawks

Williams played very well in Seattle, including a Pro Bowl appearance and Super Bowl appearance in 2017. Similar to Cleveland, he was unable to sign a long-term contract and headed to free agency in 2020.

Tennessee Titans

The Titans signed Williams to a 3 year, $30 million contract to replace Kareem Taylor. Williams ability did not transfer to Tennessee and had his worst season which ultimately ended with a season-ending ACL injury. He threw for 8 TDs and 11 INTs in 10 games. He was cut by the Titans after his first season.

Baltimore Ravens

Williams was brought in to help mentor and back up young Brett Fisher. When Fisher went down with injury for the season, Williams was forced into action, and while his arm alone wasn't able to carry the team, his veteran leadership helped the Ravens beat Jacksonville and Buffalo.
