College career
Brooks played college football at Wisconsin. He started at ILB in the 2013 CFBHC Season before graduating and declaring for the draft.
Professional career
Draft
Brooks was the first player drafted by the New England Patriots organization, when he was taken ninth in the inaugural 2014 NFLHC Draft.
Playing Career
Brooks has started for four seasons at the Inside Linebacker position for the Patriots, making the Pro Bowl all four years. He led the league in tackles in 2015, 2017, and 2018. In the 2018 offseason, he was traded to Detroit in exchange for Mark Craig, Randy Lehr, and the Lions' 4th round pick.
