Professional Career

Pre-draft

During the 2015 NFLHC Combine, Fazande was one of seven defensive ends invited. He was found to have an elevated risk of injury. However, he was still considered one of the top three DE prospects of that year, and while he did not excel in any event, his numbers showed that he was a well rounded individual.

Draft

Fazande was selected in the 2nd round of the 2015 NFLHC draft. He was the 3rd defensive end selected, and 35th player overall. He signed a 4 year, $28 million contract with St. Louis.

St. Louis Rams

2015 Season

Starting at right defensive end, Fazande was an absolute beast. In TNF week 8 against the New Orleans Saints, Fazande recorded an incredible 1 sack, 4 tackle, and 1 blocked field goal en route to a 31-13 victory. In week 11 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Fazande had 2 sacks, his first multisack game. Fazande led the Rams in sacks this season, and was tied for 7th in the NFL. Unfortunately, he was not voted to attend the Pro Bowl, a snub in the eyes of many.

2016 Season

Fazande played at the left defensive end position, and was the primary pass rusher for the St. Louis Rams defensive line. Alongside Jeffrey Bryant and Justin Glass, Fazande spearheaded the Rams 3-4 defense. Fazande had three multisack games to earn a spot at his first Pro Bowl.

2017 Season

Once again, the Rams used a 3-4 setup and Fazande was relied on for run defense and his fearsome pass rush. While he still led the team in sacks, it was evident that his run defense was not up to speed as the Rams had the league's worst run defense. Still, his 5.5 sacks showed that he was always a threat lurking to hurt opposing quarterbacks. Fazande was selected to his second straight pro bowl at the end of his 3rd season, one of four Rams sent to Hawaii.
