A major rival of the Wildcats in the 1900s was against the New Mexico Lobos. The series was intense until the annual matchup was canceled after the 1990 season. The teams did face off in the 2018 Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth with Arizona winning 24-6. They look to restart the rivalry in future seasons.
