College Career
Brandon Snead grew up in a small Oregon town named Fossil with a population less than 500. His family were huge Oregon Ducks fans and the town threw a small parade when Snead committed to the Ducks. Snead first saw action in 2013, as the #2 WR for the Ducks behind Gary Faneca. Snead had a good season but the Ducks had a rough year going 4-8. With Faneca declaring early, Snead looked like the next leading WR for the Ducks but they opted for the faster and younger Tory Abraham. The Ducks were improved in 2014, posting an 8-5 record but Snead struggled having one touchdown and averaging just over 10 yards per catch.

Professional Career
Draft
Snead was pretty far down the list of WR prospects for most teams. He went undrafted but was signed as a UDFA by the Atlanta Falcons.
Atlanta Falcons
Snead was a contributor for the Falcons in the 2015 season but did not play a large role. The Falcons liked what they saw and liked how much he progressed as a rookie and gave him a 4 year extension. However, Snead was traded at the trade deadline of the 2016 season along with a 2017 2nd round pick, which was then given to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a trade involving Marcus Barry and James Otero, and a 2017 5th round pick for the most recent Super Bowl MVP WR Riddick Smith.
Miami Dolphins
Snead's stay with the Dolphins was short-lived. He was the #3 WR behind Rodney Montgomery and Marcus Banks. The Dolphins chose not to protect Snead for the 2017 NFLHC Expansion Draft.
Chicago Bears
With their first selection and 8th overall pick in the expansion draft, the Chicago Bears drafted Brandon Snead. The Chicago Bears then went on to select QB Norris Brooksheer with the 1st overall pick of the 2017 NFLHC Draft. Snead was the #1 WR for the 2017 season and had an impressive 1,123 yards. The Bears quickly became a pass-focused team and traded for WR David Gaines. Gaines became the #1 WR while Snead became the #2 guy. The 2018 season was disappointing for Snead, only having 547 yards. But as chemistry between Brooksheer and the pair of WRs grew, they became possibly the best WR duo in the league during the 2019 and 2020 seasons. In 2020, Gaines and Snead each had over 95 receptions and almost 2,500 receiving yards combined. They looked to continue that in 2021 but Snead suffered a severe MCL bruise in week 8 of the season. The bruise was worse than originally thought. Snead retired at the end of the season, a surprise to many.
