Draft
Ellis was selected in the 5th round with the 65th pick of the 2014 NFLHC Draft by the Green Bay Packers.
Green Bay Packers
Damione Ellis quickly became the leader of the Packers defense. He was not a flashy player but was a solid tackler. He made the Pro Bowl in 2014 and in 2015. He was a do-it-all style player who did not excel in one area. He covered well and stopped the run well. He spent all eight seasons in Green Bay with his best season coming in 2020. He was named the team's defensive captain and had one of his best seasons statistically, forcing 6 turnovers that season. He only forced 3 turnovers in his other 7 seasons combined. His efforts were rewarded in 2020 with the Packers winning the Super Bowl. Ellis returned to the team in 2021 but decided to retire after the season.
