History of the trophy

The cup began in 2018 as a part of interstate competition between the top three collegiate teams in Tennessee. It is named after the legendary folk hero Davy Crockett. The trophy is a Coonskin Cap, one of the best known symbols of Crockett.

3. Final Coaches Poll Ranking
In every subsequent season, in the event of a tie, the previous year's champion retains.
