Donald Kendrick is an offensive guard and team captain at the University of Tennessee.
Early Life
Kendrick was born in Alma, Arkansas, a poor town near the western border of the state. Kendrick was a troublesome child, but put a lot of his energy on the gridiron and the basketball court. His imposing, 6-7 frame made him a force to be reckoned with and Kendrick was a top athlete, winning the Alma Times Player of the Year in both sports as he dominated at Alma High School.
Recruiting
Kendrick was one of only 5 five star guards in the nation in 2017, and considered the second best guard behind fellow instate recruit Noah Barney, who would commit to Ohio State. He was heavily contested between Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Louisville, but on national signing day Kendrick committed to the Volunteers. His former Alma teammate Terrell Manuel was instrumental in Kendrick's commitment to Tennessee.
