Professional Career

Draft

Malone and LSU teammate Ronnie Bailey were regarded well in the 2020 NFLHC Draft. The Arizona Cardinals selected Malone with the 2nd pick of the 2nd round, 34th overall.

Arizona Cardinals

Malone was thrust into the #2 CB role as a rookie. In 2022, the Cardinals new front office moved to a Zone defensive backs scheme to better accommodate #1 CB Ian Garner, and signed ex-Colts CB Aaron Samuelsson to start, moving Malone into the nickel role.

New York Jets

Malone was traded, with Mayer Cornelius and a 2024 2nd Round selection, to the Jets for Aden Hastings and Corey Quinn, prior to free agency in 2023.

San Francisco 49ers

The Jets traded Malone to the 49ers at the 2023 trade deadline in exchange for Dennis Niland and a 2025 4th round selection.
