Franz Kafka is currently the head coach of the University of Colorado football team.

Early years

Kafka grew up a fan of the Georgia program and regularly attended games with his parents during his childhood. In 2007, he began his undergraduate studies at Georgia and eventually graduated with a degree in political science four years later.

Coaching style

As stated in more than a few interviews, Kafka's number one priority in terms of coaching is winning the line of scrimmage. "It's all about the trenches," he told Sports Illustrated in 2013, "if you can dominate up front, you're gonna be awfully tough to beat."

Kafka also stresses the importance of sound special teams, viewing them as a weapon. During his hiring press conference, Kafka quipped that "...flipping the field on somebody or making a long field goal can turn the tide in a close game and that's precisely what we're gonna do. Gotta be sound in all three phases of the game - special teams are too often overlooked."
