Fred Tindale (born April 13th, 1992) is an American football Running Back for the Indianapolis Colts. He played college football at Florida. He was selected by the Seattle Seahawks with the 103rd pick in the 2016 NFLHC Draft.

Early Years

Tindale was born in Tampa, Florida, and grew up idolizing Emmitt Smith. He wears the #22 as an homage to his childhood hero. As a 3-Year starter at RB for Thomas Jefferson High School, Tindale was a two time Class 3A All Team selection and helped lead his team to a perfect 15-0 season and Class 3A Championship his senior year. A highly recruited prospect, Tindale chose to follow in the footsteps of his idol and committed to the University of Florida.

College Career

Fred Tindale attended Florida for 5 years and graduated with a Masters in Criminology, Law, & Society. He was redshirted as a Freshman, and became a 2-Year starter once Brian Kiel left for the 2014 NFLHC Draft.

Professional Career

Pre-draft

During the 2016 NFLHC combine, Tindale was considered a Top 5 Running Back. He ran a 4.43 40-Yard dash time, 2nd best among the top RB prospects, but was given an Elevated injury concern by combine doctors. This would prove to be too much of a concern for some teams.

Draft

Coming out of Florida, Tindale was considered one of the top RB prospects in the 2016 NFLHC Draft. He was able to put together a solid combine performance, but the news of an Elevated injury risk was seen as a red flag by many teams. His free fall down the draft board was the news of the draft as he was finally selected on Day 3 in the 5th Round, with the 103rd pick by the Seattle Seahawks. Tindale would go on to sign a rookie deal worth $2.5 Million over 2 years.

Seattle Seahawks

2016 Season

Coming into his rookie season with the Seahawks, Tindale was the clear cut starter at RB. With a questionable passing game to start the season, Tindale was asked to carry much of the offensive load for his team. He answered the call and in his 1st professional start was able to accumulate 157 yards and 3 touchdowns on 26 carries. Midway through the season, the Seahawks acquired Darren Werner and Tindale was no longer asked to shoulder the load for the team, and was able to increase his yards per carry. After such a productive rookie season, the Seahawks managed to sign Tindale to a 3 year/$16 million extension.

Arizona Cardinals

Tindale made his Cardinals debut in 2020. In 2021, he was named the starter, where he would carry for over 1000 yards before suffering a season ending injury. The Cardinals drafted Trevon Yeldon to be their starter, moving Tindale to a backup role.

Indianapolis Colts

Tindale was traded to the Colts following Week 7, 2022, for a 7th round selection in the 2023 NFLHC Draft.
