Gary Baldacci is an American football head coach and former quarterback who most recently played for the San Francisco 49ers. He is currently the head football coach at Louisiana Tech, a position he has held since 2023. He played college football for the West Virginia Mountaineers. Baldacci was an undrafted free agent in the 2015 NFLHC Draft but was picked up by the Green Bay Packers.

Early Years
Baldacci was born in Princeton, WV. He attended Princeton High School.
College Career
Baldacci was the starting quarterback for two years with the West Virginia Mountaineers. Despite having an impressive 42 TDs to 7 INTs, West Virginia went 4-8 in each of those two seasons.

Professional Career
Draft
Gary Baldacci was not invited to the NFL combine and went undrafted in the 2015 draft.
Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers picked up Baldacci as an UDFA, however; he was traded prior to the beginning of the 2015 season for OT Terrell Thompson.
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints traded for Baldacci where he appeared in 1 game throwing for 139 yards and an interception. The Saints would not renew Baldacci's contract at the end of the 2015 season.
San Francisco 49ers
Baldacci would sign with the San Francisco 49ers serving as the #2 quarterback on the depth chart for the 2016 and 2017 season. In 2018 Gary Baldacci would get the chance to start a regular season game against the Baltimore Ravens where he would throw for 269 yards and 2 TDs in a 49ers victory.
Baldacci would enter free agency prior to the beginning of the 2019 season. In a whirlwind 2 day period Baldacci would be signed by the Bears, traded to the Colts for quarterback Harold Simmons, and then cut by the Colts all in one day. The next day Baldacci would sign a 1 year contract to return to the San Francisco 49ers. His final three seasons were spent as the Niners third string QB behind Todd Lester and Orly Vaccaro.

Louisiana Tech
In October of 2023 Louisiana Tech University hired Gary to be their head football coach. Louisiana Tech was 0-4 when Athletic Director Rusty Molyneaux made the hire. The Bulldogs went 4-4 under Baldacci.
