Professional Career

Draft

Shipp entered the 2019 NFLHC Draft, and was drafted in the 6th round by the Atlanta Falcons.

Atlanta Falcons

Shipp wasn't expected to see the field early, but injury to A.J. Jefferson forced him onto the field as a rookie. He played better than one might expect out of a 6th round selection, but the front office was convinced of him long term, and would bring in Blake Shell in 2020, Matteo Rook in 2021, and Michael Thompson in 2022. Shipp was waived to the practice squad, and spent 3 weeks of 2022 on the PS as the Falcons QB5.

Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals signed Shipp to a 1 year, 0.5M deal off of the Falcons practice squad heading into week 4. The move came with the waiving of WR Eugene Sanders, and the release of QB Adrian Rupp.

Shipp was waived from the Cardinals to their practice following a Week 13, 2022 loss, making room for the addition of fellow ex-Falcons QB Matteo Rook on the active roster.

Despite Shipp signing a 1-year contract to remain with the Cardinals prior to 2023 Free Agency, the Cardinals signed a pair of veteran QBs in A.J. Jefferson and Christian Barkley to man their top QB spots, and Shipp was released shortly after the 2023 NFLHC Draft and Barkley's signing.
