Jamir Blackburn is a Wide Receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Early Life

Blackburn was born in Lansing, Michigan and was interested in sports from an early age. He was a star football and basketball player for the Everett Vikings where he generated interest in both sports from college recruiters.

Blackburn's parents met at the University of Minnesota and he grew up as a fan of the Golden Gophers despite living in the territory of Big Ten opponent Michigan State.

As well as being a talented athlete Jamir maintained high grades during his high school career with an interest in Mathematics. He left high school with a 4.0 GPA.

Recruiting

Blackburn was recruited heavily by schools across the country, he developed a reputation as a tall receiver with deep speed and an advanced understanding of route running and technique for his age. He was considered to be a prospect with a high floor and a lot of potential.

Jamir was a round 1 committ for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Head Coach Bingo415 heavily recruited Blackburn as the schools top prospect and personally made the coaches visit to see the young star. After visiting the school Blackburn immediately announced his intention to commit to the Golden Gophers, many touted Blackburn as the school's best ever commit.

College Career

Blackburn attends The University of Minnesota. He is currently working on a degree in Mathematics.

2017 Season

Blackburn had a fantastic camp for the Golden Gophers and was named as the #2 receiver going into the season. He was playing behind incumbent Starter and offensive star Mohamed Charles. Minnesota targeted both Charles and Blackburn in measure during the season and Jamir showed off his physical dominance and playmaking ability throughout the season.

Blackburn finished the season with 576 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns and is expected to play an even bigger role in 2018.

He was recognised as a finalist for Big Ten Freshman of the season.
