Draft

Johnson was selected with the 35th overall pick of the 2017 NFLHC Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. Some projected Johnson as a mid-late first round prospect, but his relatively disappointing combine saw him drop to the Eagles at 35.

Philadelphia Eagles

2017 Season

Johnson was immediately thrust into the starting strong safety role for the Eagles in the 2017 NFLHC Season. With little else in the secondary the Eagles struggled mightily as a bottom-tier pass defense, finishing the season 2-14. Johnson finished the season with 26 tackles and 2 interceptions.

2021 Season

Johnson suffered a Moderate Hip Strain which caused him to be questionable for weeks 6 and 7. He did play in the playoffs contributing in an upset over the Green Bay Packers.

2023 Seaspon

Johnson's 2023 season was a downgrade from his previous Pro Bowl season. He was still pivotal in the Eagles playoff run accounting for 5 tackles in an upset win against the Falcons.

Minnesota Vikings

2024 Season

Johnson was traded to the Vikings after starting strong safety Tyler Trent got injured they traded a 6th round pick to acquire him.

In week 10 he suffered a severe ankle fracture which ended his season

2025 Season

Johnson is projected to sit behind and rotate with Tyler Trent.
