Professional Career

Draft

Joseph Bowen was overshadowed for the most part by other top running backs Mike Latta, Chester Dorenbos, Michael Shoemaker, and Shawn Anderson leading up to the 2017 NFL Draft. Many questioned his size as he measured 5-9 185 lbs at the combine and others pointed to a lack of break away speed. For his small frame Bowen showed his strength as he completed 22 bench reps which was tied for 4th most among all running backs. His 4.58 forty yard dash seemed to send him further down certain draft boards. Despite his tremendous college production, most experts agreed he would be a mid to late round pick.
