Papac started for the North team in the Senior Bowl. Papac also was invited to the 2016 NFLHC combine, one of three strong safeties invited along with Darren Manning and Tavian Oliphant. Manning and Oliphant were seen as much higher caliber prospects than Papac.
Draft
With the 83rd pick in the 4th round of the 2016 NFLHC Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected Papac.
Cincinnati Bengals
Papac started his rookie season in Cincinnati but did not make much of an impact. After the season, he was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the 2017 NFLHC Expansion Draft.
Buffalo Bills
The Bills took Papac with the 54th pick in the expansion draft. He started for the Bills and recorded his first interception. Papac did not get too comfortable in Buffalo as he was traded to the Oakland Raiders after the season along with OLB Billy Anderson and a 3rd round pick which was used to select DE Adam Williams in return for SS Keyshawn Ayanbadejo, FB Michael Banks, and a 7th round pick.
Oakland Raiders
Papac started for the Raiders in 2018. After one season, his contract expired and he was allowed to walk to free agency.
Chicago Bears
The Bears signed Papac to a 1 year, $2 million contract in free agency but he was relegated to 3rd string on the depth chart behind Jared Calloway and Robert Medina. Papac headed back to free agency after the season.
Houston Texans
Papac signed a 1 year, $0.5 million contract with the Texans. He was the backup to Darren Manning but was able to start some games late in the season after Manning was injured. Papac was again became a free agent after the 2020 season. He did not receive any interest in the offseason. However, the Texans new strong safety Frederick Fain suffered a ruptured ACL and Papac was brought back on a 1 year contract and started the rest of the season for the Texans. After the 2021 season, Papac decided to retire from football.
