Draft

Matthews was selected with the 55th overall pick of the 2017 NFLHC Draft.

New York Jets

Matthews won the starting right tackle job in the pre-season, replacing incumbent Erik Russell. Matthews continued to start at right tackle in 2018 for the majority of the season, playing across from 2018 first rounder Darnerien Sohn.

Tennessee Titans

Over the 2019 offseason, the Jets traded Matthews to the Titans for a 2020 5th round pick used to select Kristian Harvey. Matthews split has since split time at OT/OG and has mostly been a backup.

Following a failed full-time conversion to guard, the Titans released Matthews during the 2023 offseason.

Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals signed Matthews to a one-year "prove it" deal in 2023 to compete with Robert Barraza for the swing tackle position role.
