History

The Memphis Tigers were formed and put into the AAC in 2017. After four games in the 2017 season the Tigers were 0-4 with a -42 point differential, the athletic director decided to make a change and hired rookie head coach Vxmonarkxv. The first three games under the new head coach were more of the same, losing all three with a point differential of -32. Memphis' first win came at the Rice Owls and snowballed to a huge victory over blooming rival SMU, ACC opponent Syracuse, then 6-3 Tulsa, and lastly Central Michigan. Vxmonarkxv would finish the year with a 5-3 record as head coach.
