College Career
Black was recruited to Iowa by beloved Iowa legend jmjacobs. After being redshirted during his true freshman year, he sat behind future NFLHC quarterback Greg Shipp for a season under the watchful eye of jmjacobs. With Shipp off to the 2019 NFLHC Draft, Black assumed the starting role for the Hawkeyes for the 2019 CFBHC Season, but it would not be under QB whisperer jmjacobs - he departed for the University of Michigan vacancy. Instead, former MAC Coach of the Year and Ohio Bobcats coach CardiacPack13 took the reigns, and the result was disastrous. Cardiack was fired following the train wreck of a season. For the 2020 CFBHC Season, the Hawkeyes administration again turned to the MAC in their head coaching search, bringing in former Kent State and Central Michigan coach paperllamasunited. Coach Llamas had a history of working with scramblers, from scrappy KSU QB John Garland to man of lore Walt Sutherland, which may have been a driving force between the school and Llamas connecting so quickly.
