Nathaniel Jeffries is the current starting outside linebacker of the Tennessee Volunteers.
Early Life
Jeffries was born in Crossville, TN. As a child, Jeffries was very heavyset. Because of this, he was relentlessly bullied, and middle school was some of the worst years of his life. It wasn't until he began weight lifting in 8th grade that he realized just how much joy he could find from the solitude of working out. The football coach of the local high school saw him in the gym one day and was blown away by Jeffries's raw strength. Jeffries went on to try out for the football team, and his athleticism wowwed everyone. Soon he was no longer bullied about his size, but admired for his talent on the gridiron. By his senior year at Cumberland County High School, Jeffries was regarded as one of the top talents in all of Tennessee.
Recruiting
Jeffries was hotly pursued by both Tennessee and Vanderbilt. He would go on multiple visits to each school, but in the end he declared for Rocky Top.
