College Career
Davenport began his collegiate career in 2013 as a redshirt, learning from a quarterback room including Onterrio Smith and Rob Corp. Smith departed for the 2014 NFLHC Draft, and Davenport jumped the depth chart over his housemate Corp, starting 13 games during his redshirt freshman year, and assaulting the ACC to the tune of a 68.65% completion percentage, and a 15:1 TD:INT ratio.

Professional Career
Draft
Davenport entered the 2018 NFLHC Draft, and was selected in the 4th round, 111th overall, by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Pittsburgh Steelers (2018 - 2020)
Davenport's drafting to Pittsburgh reunited him with former collegiate teammates Onterrio Smith and Rob Corp. Davenport saw limited action during his rookie season, but showed some promise during 8 games of play the following year. In 2020, he played in 10 games, continuing to be an average quarterback.
Following the 2020 NFLHC Season, Davenport decided to hold out, in hopes of getting a better financial return for his playing the majority of the Pittsburgh games the past two seasons. He wouldn't play another down in Pittsburgh.
New York Giants (2021)
Davenport was traded to the New York Giants, with R.J. Stanford going in return to the Steelers. He continued his holdout, standing firm on the desire for more compensation, and even turning down an offer from New York. After having not played during the preseason, or taking part in any offseason activities, his fitness and chemistry with his new teammates seemed to take hits, and he struggled out to his worst year as a pro completion percentage-wise. The Giants under GM deandean1998 did not elect to bring him back to the Big Apple following their miserable season.
Arizona Cardinals (2022)
Davenport took a visit to the Jacksonville Jaguars early in free agency. The Arizona Cardinals ended up trading their lone rostered quarterback, Rory Weston, for Steelers QB Rob Corp, opening an opportunity for Davenport to rejoin his decade-old friendship and former Miami Hurricane and Pittsburgh Steeler teammate in Arizona. One day after Corp became a Cardinal, Davenport flew in and signed with the team.
Davenport was benched in favor of Greg Bierria with four weeks remaining following poor performances.
New York Giants (2023)
Davenport began his second stint with the Giants by being traded in the opening minute of 2023 trading, being shipped with a 2023 7th round selection, and 2024 6th and 7th round selections, to the Giants, for a 2023 6th round selection.
