Robbie Koehler is an American football Quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts.


Recruiting

Koehler was touted to be one of the top pocket passer QBs in the 2017 class, and was dsicussed as a potential future NFL quarterback. He played for Beaverton High School in Beaverton, Oregon. He committed to Minnesota during Round 1 of the recruiting phase.

2018

Koehler redshirted his first year at Minnesota, with senior Sean O'Reilly favored as starter.

2019

Koehler started the year listed as the starting QB for Minnesota, and played 11 out of 12 games, leading the Golden Gophers to an 8-4 record.

2020

Under a new coach, Koehler led the team to a 7-5 record. He won his first Offensive Player of the Week in the B1G, following a 299 yd, 4 TD outing vs the Miami Hurricanes. In Week 16, he was named an honorable mention for B1G Offensive Player of the Week for his 390 yd, 3 TD performance against Wisconsin. In the Bay Area Bowl vs Washington State he won MVP after defeating the Cougars 37-20 and throwing for 294 yds and 3 TDs.

2021

Robbie held onto the starting role for the 2021 season, but only was able to secure 4 wins in his first full season under the new regime. Nonetheless, he was an honorable mention for B1G Offensive Player of the Week in Week 6, after a 250 yd and 3 TD performance against #17 Illinois. In Week 12 vs Indiana, he threw for 285 yds and 3 TD, securing B1G Offensive Player of the Week.

2022

Having lost the starting job to JuCo transfer Robert Lynch, Koehler announced that he would be transferring to the University of North Dakota effective immediately.

Professional Career

Contract Info

After going undrafted in the 2023 NFLHC Draft, Koehler signed a 3 Year, $1.5 Million deal with the Colts. This deal expires following the 2025 NFLHC Season.

2023 Season

The Colts waived Koehler to the Practice Squad prior to the season, and he spent the entire year there.
