number_of_teams | Total number of teams competing at the highest level (either I-A or FBS depending on year) | 120 |
preseason_ap | The team ranked #1 in the pre-season AP Poll; The reason AP is used is because the BCS does not start until halfway through the season, and for older years there is no BCS, and the Coaches Poll does not go back as many years as the AP. | [[2007 Georgia Bulldogs football team|Georgia Bulldogs]] |
regular_season | The dates of the first and last games of the regular season | August 30 – December 1 |
number_of_bowls | The number of postseason bowls played | 34 |
