Professional career
Draft
Wietecha was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the inaugural 2014 NFLHC draft with the 126th overall pick in the 8th round. He was the seventh defensive end selected.
Oakland Raiders
Wietecha did not stay for long with the Raiders. After having a forgetful 3.0 sacks as a rookie, the Raiders chose to not protect him for the 2015 NFLHC Expansion Draft.
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens selected Wietecha with the 12th pick in the expansion draft. He had a quick start and had his best season in 2015 resulting in a career-high 9.5 sacks. He continued to be a staple of the Ravens defensive line for the next six seasons. He was never able to replicate the success he had in first season with the Ravens but was a consistent contributor. He decided to retire after the 2021 season.
