Draft
Peaks was selected with the 23rd overall pick, a 2nd round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers who quickly became the Indianapolis Colts. He was the 6th RB taken in the draft.
Indianapolis Colts
Peaks made the Pro Bowl in his rookie season despite missing two of the eleven games. He was a bright spot on a 1-10 Colts team. The Colts improved to 5-9 the next season and Peaks improved but missed out on the Pro Bowl. In 2016, the Colts became one of the best teams in the league, ultimately losing to the Falcons in Super Bowl III. Peaks had solidified himself as one of the top RBs as he lead the league with 5.50 yards per carry, edging out Chester Henson. The team began to rely more on Peaks in 2017 with QB Greg Bierria beginning to struggle. The extra load on Peaks caused a dip in his performance but he still had a very respectable 1,385 yards along with 13 TDs. The Colts traded up to the first overall pick and took Heisman winning QB Aaron Shea in the following draft. Aaron Shea became the focus of the offense. Although Peaks only averaged 4.28 yards per carry in 2018, he scored 16 rushing touchdowns and added 5 receiving touchdowns which landed him on the 1st team All-Pro with Vaughan Abraham. Peaks did not make the Pro Bowl, however. Disaster struck in 2019 when Peaks tore his ACL in a preseason game against the New York Giants. Peaks was placed on IR for the rest of the season but attempted to return in 2020. The Colts opted for younger players in 2020, playing Mamadou Heard and 3rd round rookie Elijah Harden. Peaks retired after the season. In Peaks five seasons as a starter, he had 26 100 yard rushing games for the Colts. In the four years post-Peaks, they had zero.
