The UTEP Miners are a collegiate football team playing in Conference USA. The Miners play in Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, TX and are a member of the West Division of Conference USA. They played their first season in 2018.

History
hoovaq4prez & FortyThree era (2018)
The Miners inaugural season had an issue mid season and ended up switching to coach FortyThree. But he also ended up leaving after a very poor recruiting class. As such the 2018 season was average in terms of on the field performance, but not yielding anything, as the team went 6-6. In terms of recruiting however, the season was a complete failure and would be felt for years.
CaptGrizzly era (2019)
Coach CaptGrizzly inherited one of the very worst teams in the NCAA and certainly in Miner history. Although a very tough one, CaptGrizzly stayed with the team for the entire season, and although the on the field product wasn't the best, coach CaptGrizzly's real impact was on the recruiting aspect. Even so CaptGrizzly was fired after the extremely poor season.
thetrain23 & Xander47 era (2020)
This season began with coach thetrain23 at the helm. After getting off to a very poor 1-4 start coach thetrain23 retired mid season. This abrupt change left the Miners assistant staff to scramble and collect the team for a few games in which they went 0-2. Things began to look up, however, when coach Xander47 stepped into the coaching job. He did a fantastic job as interim head coach going 4-1. Tragedy struck again for the Miners, however, as he also ended up leaving the team for undisclosed reasons, that left the team without a coach once again for 2021.
Osukid era (2021)
2021 was looking very dark for the Miners until coach Osukid2811 took over the team. Although the team was a below average 4-6, under Osukid2811 the recruiting class looks to be one of the biggest and most successful in history. Coach Osukid2811 left for FCS Delaware after the season.
LamboThrone era (2022)
After a stint at North Carolina, head coach returned to the state of Texas to become the coach of UTEP. LamboThrone was previously named the national head coach of the year at Texas Tech in 2015. LamboThrone and the Miners rocketed out to a 6-1 record and began grabbing national attention. This quickly faded away as the Miners went on to lose their last six games of the season but were able to make it to their first bowl game.
