Trey Chaffin is currently the head coach of the Georgia Institute of Technology football team.

Early years

Trey Chaffin was born in Waycross, Georgia on March 27, 1995. He grew up in a family where both sides of his family were diehard Yellow Jackets fans, a rarity in South Georgia. He would live in Waycross until the end of his 7th grade year when he would move to Valdosta Georgia where he lived for another four years before moving to Hoover, Alabama for his last two years of High School. Having attended Lowndes High School in Valdosta and Hoover High School in Hoover, he has grown accustomed to winning. While he always thought he would attend the Georgia Institute of Technology, he quickly realized he did not want to do Calculus for the rest of his life after his first High School Calculus class. He finally decided to go to the University of Alabama for its business school and hopefully their Law School post grad. When he was offered the head coaching job of the Yellow Jackets he quickly worked out a deal with UA to take online classes so he could move to Atlanta and take over the team.

Coaching style

Trey Chaffin's offense is balanced between running and passing in general, with a slight lean to the running game. The most important aspect of his game is discipline. He sets strict rules on and off the field and it is not unusual for star players to be suspended for a quarter or even a half for missing bed check, or a series of needless penalties resulting in being benched. "You can't win a game if your players aren't disciplined", he said in a recent interview. He went on to say, "I also believe I am setting these kids up with skills they will need throughout their life, if they continue with football or not. If they run around thinking they run the world while they are here, I've done a real disservice to them because they will feel entitled after they leave."

NFL Administrative Career

On March 17th, 2014 Trey accepted the job as GM of the Cincinatti Bengals as well as being Head Coach of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

During the 2015-2016 offseason Bengals owner rabidsnowman left to pursue a Head Coaching Job, and Trey took over the reigns as Owner and GM until new GM fever_ful was hired.
