Washington faithful hoped that star quarterback [[Jake Davis]] would be able to lead the Huskies to their first conference title since 2016.  Washington would go 1-2 in a tough out of conference slate against Hawaii, Illinois, and SMU, none of them at Husky Stadium.  Conference play went much better as the Huskies went 8-1, clinching the North Division title with a Week 15 victory against rival [[Oregon]] at [[Autzen Stadium]] 24-23.  They played the [[Arizona Wildcats]] in the Pac-12 Conference Championship Game and came away with a 31-23 victory, clinching the title that had eluded them for over eight seasons.

 +
More welcome news came when the Huskies made the Playoffs as the eighth seed.  They would have a rematch against the SMU Mustangs.  But just like their Week 12 contest the Cotton Bowl again ended in a 3-point defeat for Washington, 23-20, giving them a 10-4 final record.

Washington faithful hoped that star quarterback Jake Davis would be able to lead the Huskies to their first conference title since 2016. Washington would go 1-2 in a tough out of conference slate against Hawaii, Illinois, and SMU, none of them at Husky Stadium. Conference play went much better as the Huskies went 8-1, clinching the North Division title with a Week 15 victory against rival Oregon at Autzen Stadium 24-23. They played the Arizona Wildcats in the Pac-12 Conference Championship Game and came away with a 31-23 victory, clinching the title that had eluded them for over eight seasons.

More welcome news came when the Huskies made the Playoffs as the eighth seed. They would have a rematch against the SMU Mustangs. But just like their Week 12 contest the Cotton Bowl again ended in a 3-point defeat for Washington, 23-20, giving them a 10-4 final record.
