2013 Season

The 2013 season is the first in which the Washington Huskies played. They finished 8-5 after defeating Syracuse Orange in the Hyundai Sun Bowl and narrowly missed the North Division title with a Week 12 loss against the rival Washington State Cougars.

Jieret Era (2022-present)

After coach deandean1998 left for Boston College, the lure of coaching his hometown team was too much to resist for Jieret who arrived in Seattle after three successful years at Western Michigan.

2022 Season

New coach Jieret was able to maintain the positive momentum previous coach deandean1998 started, getting the Huskies to back-to-back bowls for the first time since the end of the 2017 season. Just like last year, Washington went to the Bay Area Bowl. Just like last year Washington defeated a Big Ten team, this time the Minnesota Golden Gophers by a score of 35-21. This gave the Huskies ten wins on the season.

2023 Season

Washington faithful hoped that star quarterback Jake Davis would be able to lead the Huskies to their first conference title since 2016. Washington would go 1-2 in a tough out of conference slate against Hawaii, Illinois, and SMU, none of them at Husky Stadium. Conference play went much better as the Huskies went 8-1, clinching the North Division title with a Week 15 victory against rival Oregon at Autzen Stadium 24-23. They played the Arizona Wildcats in the Pac-12 Conference Championship Game and came away with a 31-23 victory, clinching the title that had eluded them for over eight seasons.

More welcome news came when the Huskies made the Playoffs as the eighth seed. They would have a rematch against the SMU Mustangs. But just like their Week 12 contest the Cotton Bowl again ended in a 3-point defeat for Washington, 23-20, giving them a 10-4 final record.
