College Career

Cooks blocked for Emmett Spears, the first dynamic running back in the MAC. Cooks was named All-Conference in 2017 after being one of the most dominant run blocking tackles in CFBHC. He chose to forgo the NFLHC Draft to sign with the Iowa Barnstormers of Arena Football.

Arena Career and Retirement

Cooks signed with the Barnstormers after graduating a semester early from Kent State. He tore multiple ligaments in his right knee during the first full-contact practice of the season, and subsequently retired, saying he didn't want to risk further injury.

MAC Media

During the fall of 2018, Cooks returned to Kent State, where he and new head football coach paperllamasunited collaborated to found MAC Media. Founded in Kent, Ohio, Cooks plans to move the media outlet to MAC HQ in Cleveland for 2019. Though not the exclusive outlet of media for the conference, MAC Media is one of the more popular sources of media content within the conference.
