Leon Woodruff (born June 2, 1993) is an American football kicker for the Tennessee Titans. He played college football at Northwest Mississippi Community College. The Tennessee Titans selected him in the 7th round in the 2017 NFLHC Draft.

Early Life

Woodruff grew up playing soccer in Biloxi, MS. After his high school team struggled to make extra points, the high school coach convinced Woodruff to join the football team in his junior year. Woodruff was an accurate kicker but could not kick from 40+ yards at this point. He chose to attend nearby Northwest Mississippi Community College.

College Career

Woodruff was an excellent kicker for the Rangers and won a NJCAA national championship in 2016 with teammates Koren Donahue, Tom Reis, and Matthew O'Connor. Woodruff improved his range but did not draw any FBS scholarship offers as there was uncertainty whether he would qualify. Woodruff decided to forgo his senior season in JUCO and declare for the NFLHC draft.

Professional Career

Draft

Woodruff was selected in the 7th round by a new expansion team, the Tennessee Titans. Woodruff was the 9th kicker selected in the draft.

Tennessee Titans

Woodruff has been the Titans kicker since their introduction into NFLHC. He has steadily improved but still struggles with deep kicks. In 2020, the Titans and Woodruff agreed to a 3-year contract extension. Woodruff began struggling during the 2022 season which worsened in the 2023 season. After going 14/24 in the team's first ten games, Woodruff was cut from the team.
